Hi All

I've come up with a general list of what I wanted to try for league play tomorrow and just wanted your thoughts on the lists below. I am having a hard time deciding between either the Vassel of Menoth or the Paladin of the wall. The Vassel would be nice if I had a Vanquisher as I can make a decent 2nd ranged attack (it's like having a 2nd vanquisher for the price of 2pts instead of 8pts), however the BG set I'll be using seems to lean towards the melee to mid range side.

Would replacing the Vassel of Menoth with a Paladin of the wall be a better utility choice? I have a rough idea that I'll be going up against Corporeal units that require that extra magical touch, magical weapon + weapon master with mat 8 should be more than enough to take down some of those nasty solos.

Battle Group - 11pts
pKreoss +5 wjps
1 x Crusader - 6pts
1 x Repenter - 4pts
1 x Revenger - 6pts

Addition 1 - 4 pts
1 x Choirs Min - 2pts
1 x Vassel of Menoth - 2pts

Addtion 2 - 4pts
1 x Choirs Min - 2pts
1 x Paladon of the Wall - 2pts

Maybe there are better recommendations out there that I am not aware of?

At that point size, and playing that jack heavy, I'd keep the Vassal. The Paladin can do a little damage, but not nearly enough if you're facing similar lists. Not to mention as your sole solo he's going to be a pretty tempting target against any sort of anti-infantry weapons your opponent might bring. It might be worth using a couple Vassal Mechanics instead.

Either of them. You won't be playing 15 points forever. Both are good models.

I would opt for the paladin, as you say he is the only other magic weapon weilder on the field other than your spellcaster. With Kreoss' spells, I would recommend a second crusader if you can swing it. He can take and deal more damage than the revenger and the extra point cost for the node I don't think is as effective with Kreoss as other spell casters. With two crusaders, you have twice the heavy and after knocking down your opponent with feat, the repenter can light them up with anything but hits and the crusaders can pummel the snot out of em. This is when I would utilize the paladin for that weapon expert hit or put hiim out front with his ability to be a high armored range target. That way your opponent is shooting at a 2 pt. model and not your six pointers.

Also, a couple of mechs would come in handy instead of the paladin or the Vassel, heal what gets hit, make em combat effective and commence to pummel.

Good luck and have fun.

With the list you have i'd consider the Paladin.
The choir has the Jacks covered nicely for buffs. As a frequent opponent of Menoth, some armies just straight up struggle to kill a Paladin if you use its stances to make him immune to damage that is not magical: Searforge, Khador, sometimes Skorne.

As a results, you have to often dedicate something you don't want to in order to kill it. As the points go up, Padalins are an odd Solo that gets better, as you can take more then 1, and they have a character option that buffs them all. If I played Menoth i'd have to character and the other 2 Pally's. They seem to be awesome to me. Vassal's will also be useful in their own ways. In the long run you probably want both models. In the short run while your learning: Paladin

Thank you all for your kind comments

Unfortuately the list is based around the journeyman league and the Battlebox is a must include.

So the only option is to add more unit/units to the 11 point Battlebox set, however this coming Tuesday it will be 25pts and I'll be running up a new list. I'm planning to go the pop & drop path with the below list .

Battle Group - 11pts
pKreoss +5 wjps
1 x Crusader - 6pts
1 x Repenter - 4pts
1 x Revenger - 6pts

Additions -
1 x Choirs (Minimum) - 2pts
1 x Vassel of Menoth or Paladin of the Wall- 2pts
1 x Vilmon - 3pts
1 x Redeemer - 6pts
1 x Vassal Mechanik - 1pt

The Reedemer seems to be one of the more popular Jacks used with pKreoss's Feat (I'm guessing because of it's 16" range). I'd normally play very aggressively and instantly feat when I can get around 2 Jack's. As far as 25pt games go, this tends to open up alot of new options. I'm also considering the use of Exemplar Errants with attachments as a tarpit unit (Not sure how well that will go though, maybe experts out there have better choices that they can recommend me?).

So its journeyman Round 5 tonight!

I'm thinking of taking up my new Converted eKreoss and running the list below. All his spells and feat seem to benefit units more than jacks, or maybe go back to pKreoss and polish up my drop and drop skills.

Grand Exemplar Kreoss

*Must include for journey man rules for week 5*
Repenter
Revenger
Crusader

Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3)

Exemplar Errants (Leader and 9)
Exemplar Errant Officer and Standard Bearer

Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord
Exemplar Errant Seneschal
High Paladin Dartan Vilmon
Paladin of the Order of the Wall
Paladin of the Order of the Wall
Vassal Mechanik
Wracks

I was thinking of subbing in a reckoner but that means I have to remove some paladins etc, What are all your thoughts?
