I put a cryptek with a squad of immortals, the immortals get wiped to the man but the crptek manages to survive and not fall back, will he be a scoring unit since he was attached to one and not an IC?

Yup. They do indeed still count as 'being a part of the unit' even if they are the only one left due to an everliving roll.

Ok thank you for that first answer, now i have a similar question i couldn't find the answer for, said cryptek was challenged by his tyrant, he rolled a 4 on the warlords personal trait, which gave him a single point for every character killed via challenge, my cryptek got back up via ever living after the combat, if he was challenged again would he confer another point?

He gets no points, he never truly killed the cryptek. He must kill the cryptek and the cryptek must then fail his reanimation in order to give up that point.

Dave has it right, also note that a cryptek is never an IC just a normal character.

That doesn't matter for challenges as they're made towards "characters". Also, "IC" is just a special rule that characters get, it is not a unit type.
