Your best units are pretty much chariots.

20 skeletons arn't enough, they'll get slaughtered, and then further more from combat rez crumbles.

Is it too late to make those skeletons have bows? Do they have shields? In the old book I believe shields may have been an option to buy now they are included for free. I would get a battalion, normally I would say 40 archers are a good start but since you have 20 warriors I would make 20 warriors and 20 archers. 40 warriors can make a decent tarpit and 20 archers is good enough bunker for a mage. This would also give you 6 chariots, most TK players like to run 4 to a unit, 3 being too small and 6 being too large, 4 allows a good frontage for impact hits. After that it's up to you, you'll have your core fulfilled to 2,000 maybe. I recommend a Casket of Souls, Warsphinx are good and with the kit you can convert up some cool stuff you'll get a Prince/King, some scarabs for swarms and you can even make a Heirotitan out of the Necrosphinx part of the kit. Necropolis Knights are a good get too a unit of 6 will tear it up, take a light priest and buff them up so they are incredibly good. Stalkers can be good too. And a lot of people swear by the catapult but mostly only if 2 are taken.

It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

They are the reason I don't get them is the cost, I can't spend over $4 a 20mm figure, especially when both halbreds and sword and board are viable but being 20mm would make it near impossible to magnetize, not like magnetizing minotaur arms. But I can see the appeal Banner of Undying Legion and a Prince in there to raise the weapon skill, necrotect for hatred
