Hello, I am having an issue transporting my army that I was hoping someone had more experience with.

I ride a motorcycle and transport my army in a backpack, usually some in foam and some in a box I have. However now that I am painting my stuff more (I usually don't paint much) the amount of dings my models take are starting to show.

My current idea is to magnetize all my figures to something that can snuggly fit into the backpack and put my foam on top of that which holds my pewter models that have some weight.

I am trying to do this on the cheap, otherwise I would just but one of the nice army cases that can go on your back.

Any ideas/experience is appreciated. :]

What kind of bike do you have? Kinda makes a difference.

I can fit a sabol motorpool case in the tour pack of my Ultra Classic, for example. Do you have a bagger?

No I don't have any practical storage space for an army and I feel better when it's on my person in any case, call it paranoia. That's why I'm trying to make the backpack option work well. :]

A few companies make backpack-model cases. I use the KR backpack when I'm cycling. I have the Backpack 2 which holds 2 of their standard card cases.

I think Battlefoam might make a backpack-case as well?

Battlefoam does indeed make a backpack specifically designed for bikers.

All the details are here along with a nice video overview:

Holy crud, i can't believe i have never heard of this company before....their website is so luxurious to browse, and those cases and trays look awfully efficient and handy

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.

I've been researching different cases for a while now, as I need a way to transport my 2000+ pt IG army on my motorcycle as well.

I've thought about getting a tail/tank/saddle bag that is roughly square, and filling it with some precut foam. Just double check the dimensions between the bag you get, and the foam you buy.

There are also backpacks offered from battlefoam http://us.battlefoam.com/categories/Battle-Foam-P.A.C.K.-System-Bags/P.A.C.K.-Go/

Out of all of them the battlefoam one seems the nicest but is also the most expensive.

I might end up just getting a top rack and strapping down my army surplus metal case with DIY foam, seeing as how if I end up flying off of a motorcycle, the metal case is strong enough to survive the crash (hopefully) and its more dangerous to have a giant 30lb backpack on you when you're rolling down the road.

In either way, let me know what solution you end up with.

Feldherr does pretty good cases. If you are looking for backpacks, these are pretty good.

You can make a strong cardboard box to fit your backpack, and put standard foam trays inside it. Very cheap and reliable. You can even buy some foam and cut your own trays, that's even cheaper.

GW hardcase strapped across the back seat works. Doesn't look uber fancy but it'll get it there.

How about a sidecar?

That's 2 votes!

It'll slow his ride and he'll have to regear his bike every time he puts it on or takes it off.

Good point, I haven't ridden a bike in years.
