Subject: Khorne Berserkers and Ranged Combat?

Its established that Khorne despises ranged combat in all its forms and deems it dishonourable.
So why do Khorne Berserkers use Bolt Pistols?
Is this not counter to their worship of Khorne?
Just something I was musing the other day.

Point blank shots are cool, plus they can use them to keep their opponents pinned down so that they can't retreat from cover. The bolt pistol fills in a space between melee and ranged and as I said it can be shot point blank and used to club your opponent.
When they say they despise ranged combat that means they despise stuff like snipers, entrenched positions with heavy weaponry and artillery, as with such you cannot get covered in blood .

Most Khorne daemon engines have ranged weapons.

He wouldn't be a good god of war if he hates the most common way to wage war.

The Tick: Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception. |

Khorne worshipers aren't expected to give up ranged combat completely-only to primarily use melee.

One of my favorite pictures of a Khorne Berzerker is of one weilding a plasma cannon.

Khorne is the Chaos god of anger, violence, and hate.
Can you not feel anger whilst firing a ranged weapon? Can you not hate the enemy? Are you not doing violence?
Every act of hate, every act of anger and every act of violence empowers Khorne. He cares not for who's blood spills, only that it spills. The guardsman screaming for his injured allies empowers Khorne, the Bloodletter showering in his foes entrails empowers Khorne. It is all the same for him. Blood for the Blood God, Skulls for the Skull Throne.
