So I've watched all the intro vids and I must say I am very interested in starting Pan Oceana (templars in space? NO WAY!). So I have a few questions concerning the bundles they have for sale. What is the main difference between the starter bundle and say the military orders bundle and the shock troops bundle? In terms of points, model value, in game versatility and all that jazz.

The military orders and shock troop starter packs are for sectorials with-in Pan Oceania. Basically a sectorial limits what all you can take in the army but increases the ava of ceritan choices to make up for this. Really though if your trying to decide between them go with what one catches your eye more. Also make use of the army creator on the Infinity site to try out makeing a few lists. Lastly try and play a few games with proxies for each of your main army choices to see which you like the feel of more. Otherwise welcome to the game it really is a great amount of fun.

Since you're coming from 40K, think of PanO as the IG and the Military Orders and Shock troops as the specific IG armies--Steel Legion, Catachan, etc. There's one 'parent' list and specific groups within.

For Infinity, appearance is definitely important. ALL the armies have the same troop types, weapons, and similar skills. Appearance is a big factor in army composition (along with skill combinations).

I was thinking about making a Code Geass army but i don't know if it would work out...

So what is the role of the battle armor/knightmare frame thingies? This stuff: http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/2012/miniatures/jotums-svalarheima-mechanized-cuirassiers/

Would you go Black Knights or Britannia ? =P

These knightmare frames are called TAG (Tactical Armoured Gear) in Infinity.
Most of the TAGs are pilot controlled except for the PanOceanian TAGs (You can always imagine there's some awesome character in it =P)
I never played with or against but by the look of their stats, they seem to act as a super heavy infantry. Great Movement, great armor, great firepower, costs a lot of points. So be careful, they only generate 1 order, just like a line trooper. And everything can easily die, just like a line trooper =P

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Depending if you want 1 or 2 TAGs (3 would probably crazy =P)
With 1 TAG, you can usually get some other nice units to fill up your points.
If you go with 2, you will probably end up having 2 Knightmare Frames and all the other models will be basic infantry to make sure you have a healthy order pool.
And don't put all you eggs in the same basket (good luck using a TAG in a 150 pts game heh It might be an all or nothing situation =P)

ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!

I think the biggest problem would be for my opponent as I have my TAGs talk to each other ala Code Ment. And the kits to make the knightmares are out of scale and a touch expensive.

So that explains the big ones, now what about all these little robuts?

These ?

If so, you need a hacker or a TAG to bring these into play.
Then they act just like any other model. But they usually have a couple special rule such as Total Reaction, which makes them very dangerous on the ARO (they shoot at full burst instead of only 1 Burst)
Some of these pack a stronger punch, some are more defensive or have an other use.
Don't know much as I mainly own Ariadna (no TAGs and the only remotes they have access to are offensive remotes)

Yeah those suckers!

Thank you very much, but I still got more questions so bear with me.

It seems with the way actions and reactions work that melee isn't very good. It seems like if I charge, I'm about to get my bullocks shot off. Am I wrong in assuming that or do other mechanics help cover up melee centric guys?

close combat is possible and can be deadly but ya it is trickier to pull off. Smoke grenades will really be your friend for this.

Smoke, camo and MA all come into it. As does co-ordinated orders with multiple models if you can swing it.
Charging from the rear arc is best if you can't do these.

There are about four dedicated CC units in Infinity, and most of those are Mercs. Despite all the PanO Knights being modeled with swords, close combat isn't really what they're meant to do. It's an option, and good in a pinch, but they're still PanO units so their best place is shooting. You don't even have half the tools you really need to get to CC reliably in Military Orders (no smoke grenades and no camo). MO is more of an "empty the mag" style faction. Use the swords when you've run out of bullets.
