There is only one correct order. Even if you ignore correct order the answer is the same.

multiplication is NOT the top priority in algebra.
Parenthesis first. Always.
Multiplication and division are then done in order from left to right. multiplication doesn't ignore that.

48/2(9+3)
48/2*12
24*12
288

Or if you want to do it wrong:
48/2(9+3)
24(9+3)
24*12
288

The disputed way is to multiply 2(9+3) before dividing into 48, giving you 48/24 which is incorrect.
To get 2 the equation would have to be:
48/1(2[9+3])
48/1(2*12)
48/1(24)
48/24
2

The original equation has only one set of parenthesis, and therefore follows standard procedure of parenthesis first, then left to right, doing any multiplication or division before any addition or subtraction.
