So the new WD has me really intrigued to try and make a competitive list for an army that I've always loved but never felt like they were competitive enough to warrant an investment.

Bloodthirster - UM, BotBG
Bloodthirster - UM, BotBG

10 Plaguebearers
5 Plaguebearers
5 Plaguebearers

8 Screamers
8 Screamers
8 Screamers

DP - Wings, IH, Breath of Chaos
DP - Wings, IH, Breath of Chaos

The list has 4 flying monstrous creatures to keep people honest. Double bloodthirster to give me a way to deal with flyers using STR 8 vector strikes. 24 Screamers because they seem to be the new premier unit in the codex. 1 large plaguebearer unit to capture a forward objective and 2 msu to capture home base.

Hmmm i guess screamers are cool with their vector strikish attacks and tank munching powers, I hadnt considered playing large amounts of them, although they probably fit well into a Flying Circus list cause they can at least keep up with a Kairos bubble, looks sound I would personally not play 4 Fmc's cause i like mixing it up with crushers and fiends but i think it has roughly the same result

What are your thoughts on the Chariots ? I know you havent used them here but do you think they have a place ?

For those enemies who willingly move against the Supreme judgement, of the Divine Emperor of man kind, Eternal death shall be granted. Amen

I've been playing for 10 years and I'm not sure if any Fast Attack choice I've ever used can compare to how my 9 Screamers have performed since this new update.

Keep them in the list, but 2 squads is overkill from what I have seen.

What about Flamers? They seem to be pretty solid after the update...

Maybe drop some screamers and some plaugebeaers for flamers they're easy tank killers especially when firing the breath of chaos enn masse

I could drop the screamers down to 5 man units and put in 3 min units of flamers as suicide squads. I'm also considering dropping the ten man unit of plaguebearers for a ten man unit of bloodletters so I can actually beat people off of an objective.

Also what are peoples opinions of daemons in general right now? Do you think that the combination of 6th and the update is enough to allow them to compete?

Daemons are performing well right now, but I attribute a lot of that to players not adjusting to 6th edition yet. As the amount of small arms fire increases and the number of transports begin to wane (Daemons really crush vehicles now) - I expect them to be at a power level similar to last edition.

They will be good in the hands of a capable general - premeasuring has made deep striking and charges easier - but knowing where to deep strike and when to take risks will remain critical.

I have not seen the full rules yet, but I suspect the new Screamers are going to be one of the shining stars in the codex (a Jetbike Turbo Boost after deep striking can put them anywhere you need) while flamers will start to come in large bundles due to their points cut and how good their overwatch ability is.

I'm just going off of what I've heard about the new daemons update. Flamers are definitely better because of point drop but the increased point cost of screamers and that their attacks are S5 with armourbane, I personally don't like how they weakened their effectiveness against vehicles. True, they're better against infantry models now but I also heard that they lost their 4+ invuln save.
I plan on trying them out to see how well they work but going off of what's been said so far, I'm rather saddened because I really like the screamers. It just sounds like they're getting nerfed pretty bad with this update.

Just to let you know, raevyen, some of my friends are taking a couple vehicles out of their lists because of the screamers. The change to them is absolutely amazing.

Oh, and another thing. Chaos Obliterators are still amazing but I am totally happy that I traded 3 of them out for 9 screamers. 100% happy

I fail to see how you came to this conclusion. Nerfed?

They are now str 5 against non-vehicles.
Against vehicles, their strength went down, BUT they get more attacks and hit on 3+s (unless stationary). Yes, it will be harder for one hit to get a pen on a vehicle, but you will be getting so many more hits overall. Plus, when you factor in the new glance rules, a lot of glances is better than one roll on the pen chart.

Screamers got nasty, not nerfed.
