Hey guys,

I recently did an article on custom Thousand Sons heads, and realised that there are probably a number of people on Dakka that would benefit from it A link to the tutorial is below the pic.

That is awesome. That would save a LOT of money.

Some fine work. That particular conversion I find a little strange though. Not sure how aerodynamic that crest is. He's asking for some serious drag.

UnCool Villain-Thanks, it certainly is a lot cheaper think its about 90p for a sheet of plasticard here, and its over A4 size...plenty of heads

CuddlySquig-Pah, who need physics Seems to work ok on the models, its positioning isn't affected by the turbines, so that can only be a plus I imagine that it would be restricted on terminator armour, but you could always put the headpiece on the top back panel

Good tutorial !

For the lazy guys like me, I recommend the use of pre-cut plasticard stripes

I've used the same technique to build my Daemon prince a TS helmet, but I wouldn't have thought of using it on regular rubric marines.

For the extra lazy (or if you have a lot to do) you can create a laser cutting template of the main portion of the crest with etch lines for aligning the rest of it. Send it off to a company like Ponoko - wait a week, do them all up pretty quick.

Glad people are liking this. Check out the other posts while you're there

Hyenajoe-I only had regular plasticard with me. Trust me, if I had the stripy stuff I'd use it lol cutting a load of tiny strips would drive you mad given enough time

Haha I'll see if anywhere back home sells the stuff. If so, 1) the head making will be so much easier and quicker. 2) Tzeentch wont take my sanity (yet).
