Terrifying Wraith

So after a long time of hating Space Wolves and everything along with them I was given an offer I just could not refuse. A buddy of mine had a very large Space Wolves force that he had collected since we got back into the game (sometime in 2010). Wolves are one of the most intriguing animals I think and watching them work is just amazing. After always being the xenos players in our gaming group I decided it was time to make the switch to the Imperium of Man. Luck have it my buddy decided he did not want his Space Wolves anymore as he had moved on to Eldar and Dark Eldar. Luck would also have it that my buddy hates gluing models and I am rather good and extremely fast with it.

Thus came the deal of a life time. Over 3000 points worth of Space Wolves (not including upgrades) for $75 and the promise to glue his new purchases for him... yes please!

After inheriting the lot I realized why he hated gluing... not all the models were terrible but they were and still are full of mould lines unclipped flash undrilled gun barrels Space Wolves scout heads on Power Armored marines ( I will upload pics of this). All of these things were not my buddies fault as he did have someone else do some gluing of the models. Anyways I decided I would make it my life's goal to get the army to a more pristine condition and thus began the tearing apart of models (which were built with plastic glue mostly) and rebuilding into more desirable poses and in some cases properly.

First a list of the items the army currently consists of:

N'jal Stormcaller (Terminator Version - Metal)
Logan Grimnar (Missing axe blade and cape - will probably be making a conversion of my own)
Lukas the Trickster (Metal)
Canis Wolfborn (Now converted to a Thunderwolf Lord with TH/SS)
Bjorn the Fell-handed/Ven Dread (Converted from forgewold Contemptor see pic further down)
2 Standard Dreadnoughts
Rune Priest
10 Space Wolf Scouts
5 Wolf Guard Terminators (Was 15 but I am trading 10 of them away as I have no desire to play a terminator based list)
47 Grey Hunters/Blood Claws (15 are in the process of being stripped)
10 Long Fangs
2 Lone Wolves
2 Space Wolf Drop Pods
Vindicator
Land Raider "Godhammer" Pattern
Rhino
Predator (Now a piece of terrain)

All that being said I will be uploading pictures of squads as they are completed and any WIP posts explaining how certain things were achieved. Once everything is repaired and built I will begin the daunting task of painting the entire force. Yikes.

This P&M blog will also include various posts containing Imperial Guard as they are going to be the allied force for my Space Wolves.

Up first my completed Bjorn:

This model was purchased on Ebay and did not feature any arms. Since the arms are expensive I wanted to find a way to build my own Assault Cannon and CCW for Bjorn. Enter Dark Angels Ravenwing Sprue, I used two of the Assault Cannons from the sprue along with the pieces to attach to guns to the bottm of the land speeder and a Lascannon battery pack to attach the guns to shoulder of the Contemptor. For the Claw I took a BA Blood Claw cut off everything outside of the wiring (the standard dread shoulder piece) attached a battery pack from a las cannon to the back... took some paper clips bent them and glue them in place to represent wiring and attached it to the shoulder. I also took the barrel of a melta gun cut it in half and glued it in the middle of the fist to represent the Heavy Flamer which bjorn is equipped with. I will upload close up shots of the specific things mentioned later.

Thanks for checking out my Blog hopefully I keep this updated regularly and get some feedback from the community!
