Irked Blood Angel Scout with Combat Knife
|
I'm still very new to the game and trying to design my first Blood Angels army.
I don't know if this is the right approach or not, but I'm trying to stay a bit balanced between the Blood Angel strengths.
So far I'm trying to have a solid fire base with at least 2 Devastator Squads supporting a Sniper Scout Squad. And then have highly mobile Assault and Death Company, and then to add the durability of Terminators.
This is what I've got so far, trying to stick to this solid base:
HQ - Librarian with Terminator Armor and Storm Bolter - 130
Elite - Terminator Squad (5) - 200
Troops - Death Company (10) - 2 Power Weapons, 1 Power Fist, Jump Packs - 405
Troops - Assault Squad (10) - 2 Meltaguns, Melta Bombs (Sergeant) - 205
Troops - Tactical Squad (10) - 1 Missile Launcher - 170
Troops - Scout Squad (5) - Sniper Rifles, 1 Missile Launcher, Camo Cloaks - 100
Heavy Support - Devastator Squad (5) - 3 Missile Launchers, 1 Las Cannon - 145
Heavy Support - Devastator Squad (5) - 3 Missile Launchers, 1 Las Cannon - 145
1500 points total.
Where does this list need some help?

I would recommend a Sang Priest for the Assault Squad. Also the terminator squad in this list does not fit. Drop the Libby to a JP Libby in Power Armor and add a 2nd assault squad.

Not sure how to fit in the points without dropping stuff but...
The termies could do with a CML, so they can walk up and actually hit stuff.
Also a priest with termy armour is a good idea, as it makes a bubble of FNP that is hard to get rid of and makes the termies harder.
The librarian should have a SS to make him harder to kill.
No one likes tactical squads, I say if they have FNP they are good enough for me. But take the free flamer, as flamers are cool.
Then ADL with quadgun to kill aeroplanes?

If your running two dev squads I'd recommend grabbing brother corbulo and let him tank with his 2+ fnp
I really don't like the tactical squad at this level, and to save points you can just run all missiles

It's not a bad list, but I would make some adjustments. drop the terminator armor from the Libby and have him run with the assault squad, change the terminators to (3) TH + SS and (2) LC, drop 5 of the death company and add either a chaplain (Lemartes is a beast) or a death company dread, drop the (2) Lascannons from the Dev squads and replace them with (2) plasma cannons for templates of doom. It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |
