Subject: What is your favorite sport, and team/athlete in it?
By sport I mean a competition of some sort involving physical activity. List your favorite team too (If it isn't a team sport list your favorite athlete).

Hockey is probably my favorite spectator sport, due to many fond memories watching it with my dad. Of course, the Blackhawks are my favorite team, so its still bittersweet.
Rugby is easily my favorite sport to play, meaning that my favorite player is me, simply because there's nothing quite like coming off the scrum to spear the 8 after he picks.
American football also ranks highly in terms of "fun to play", but it lacks the fluidity of rugby. Though when you play in the front 7 your job is pretty much to hit people, which is the best part of the game.

Here is our star player, he isn't a prolific goal scorer, but he works harder than the rest of the team and is a consummate professional.

My favorite team is the CORE. Though the ARM is a good runner up.

Football: Norwich City (easily the best football team in this thread, about a million times better than Morathi's )
Speedway: Kings Lynn Stars
F1: Hamilton I suppose
Tennis: Andy Murray
Boxing: Sam Sexton or Cleverley
Athletics: Jessica Ennis of course.
Question to our UK Dakkanauts: Is hockey not a popular sport over there? I've noticed you guys always posting your football teams, but that's about it. And what other sports are popular over there (other than football)?

I'd say Tennis & Motorsports are fairly popular as well. And any sport were winning in, such as cycling.
And if you're drinkin' well, you know that you're my friend and I say "I think I'll have myself a beer"
