I... I'm not even sure how to react. Either you are a brave man, or a foolish one.
We shall see.

I started with lizardmen, then never bothered with FB again. But I still enjoy painting the lizardmen minis!

all i can say is good luck

I voted Bretonnians since I am building a army with them

Ogres are a FANTASTIC starting army as they are probably the most inexpensive but since that's not on the list.

Daemons. For BLOOODLETTERS! Which seem to be one of the best core-infantry. {The whole army book is good, I just really like bloodletters}

Bretonnia and Wood Elves are kinda weak right now, but you could pull it off.

Vampire Counts are expensive in $ if you plan on getting a decent amount of zombies.

I would choose Lizardmen, but for some reason it won't let me vote.

Lizardmen have a very strong book. Saurus Warriors are comparable to Warriors of Chaos with T:4, S:4, A:2. Plus the Slann Mage-Priest is arguably the most powerful wizard in the entire game right now.

Lizardmen in my opinion have the best fluff by far. (If you care about such things)

The miniatures are spectacular, with loads of theme, and conversion possibilities.

Empire is generally the easiest army to learn the game with.

Everyone who isn't familiar with the rules should start with Empire as it covers pretty much every base in the core rules. They are also quite versatile.

Now if you want to learn the hard way, do something like Beastmen or Wood Elves. Those are 2 of the 3 hardest armies to win with.

Another option is to pick and army that isn't represented locally.
