I just picked up the new devlan mud and when i applied it to my model it cme out very much as if i had put a clearcoat on it instead of a wash, it became very shiny.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, I recently started using the AS, and noticed it was a bit...glossy.
However, I did get the intended shading affect as well (not quite DM, but not bad).
I later matte coat my models (most of the time) I too noticed this affect.

Shake the was well and make sure you have a lot of colour on your brush (but not so much you are going to be saturating your model). Sometiems the mixture splits and all you'll get is wash and no pigment, so, mix well and look at whats on your brush before you paint, never had this problem myself but a few people at the painting table at my LGS have had it

Nope, I've not had that problem as of yet. I've only used the 1 pot of Agrax and it came out fine, went on fine and dried with the typical matt finish of GW washes. It's not terribly Devlan Mud like and I don't use it as a replacement for Devlan Mud, but it's a decent medium brown wash.

I just did a test and for the 1st model i did not shake the pot at all and it came out glossy, while the 2nd model i shaked the pot for a good 10 seconds and he isnt glossy so if anyone has this problem just remember to shake the paint pot!!

As has been said, I've found this with Devlan Mud as well as Agrax; you just need to shake the bottle.
