Is the weapon platform that Guardians can cart around considered one of the new 'artillery' platforms? As in, it is T7 W2?
I'd sure like to be able to shoot it.

No. The rules for the platform are specifically laid out in the codex. It doesn't count as a model, but has to be fires by a guardian model that cant shoot his normal gun

Nope, though the gun can only be used by one of the two crew men, so you only have to snipe two T3 5+ models. But I must say that the idea of running around with T7 guardians deffently made my day

Does the crew have to be specified by the player? Can you then allocate wounds to those models with precision strikes/they are at the front, and if they die, the weapon platform goes with them?

Yup, you also draw los/range from either of them, and the gun needs to be placed within 2 inch of one of them.

Lots of misinformation here. There is 2 platforms Eldar have, so careful not to mix them up.
Troop choice defender guardians with a heavy platform:
- 2 models are considered the "crew" and one can fire the gun per turn just as if they were carry the weapon.
- The platform changes the weapon from heavy to assault
- The gun model it's self is completely ignored for in game purposes and is just there for show.
heavy choice Support Weapon Platform:
- 2 guardians per gun are the crew
- The guns make the whole unit T7 and the gun it's self is 2 Wo 3+ armor. If all the guns die, the models revert to their original Tough stats.
- You can not move and shoot the guns

The gun still needs to be in coherency with one of the crew men, even if it is only as a cosmetic thing.

not really most people put a guy on each side of the squad one has a trigger like dentator and other gots spiceal hemlet if they use the right models. Put no were does it say they half to stay next to the gun.

ELdar codex page 39:
It has two Guardians as crew, and must stay in coherency with at least one of the crew.
Emphasis mine.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You really need to improve the spelling and grammar of this post, I literally have no idea what you're saying.
As for the rule, it sounds like 2 models in the Guardian squad need to be chosen as the handlers of the heavy weapon. If they are at the front of the squad, does that mean that when they die, the heavy weapon is no longer useable?

Yes, if both crew are killed the platform is removed. Normal squad members can't use it.
