1500 Ultra Marines no tricks really just straight forward, does it have a place with the new rules ?

HQ:
MoF...SB...105

Elites:
Dreadnought TL AC ...125

Dreadnought TL AC ...125

Dreadnought TL AC ....125

Tac:
Scout Squad:
9 SR -1 ML - camo cloaks....180

Tac:
M gun MM - Rhino...215

Tac:
M gun MM - Rhino 215

Fast:
Storm Talon- TL AC - SM.....155

Storm Talon- TL AC SM....155

Attack Bike x 2 - MM x 2...100

Bikes & Talons flank either side or together, get them thinking.
Rhino's go up middle tank hunting.
MoF and Scouts hang in cover and try and suppress infantry heavies.
Hopefully mop up what's left with TL Dreads.

Saw a list like this on www.yesthetruthhurts.com had to peel it down some to get it to 1500.
I really liked it though wasn't sure what to take out, I think the original list had 6 TL Dreads and 4 Tac's, I'd love to have that but it won't work for 1500 what would you change ?

Solid list. I'd swap the MotF for a librarian.

Maybe swap some dread weapons around, just to seem less spammy.

Don't forget your attack bikes are in one squadron. As listed you are using 4 FA slots on the FOC.

why such a long space. List seams nice, I am all about the scout so I would push Talion with 20 more points. The new rules states that the whole unit gets the cover. But I have not played the 6th ed yet, need more gamers here.

The Good: 8,000
Ultramarine, Scouts, Blood Angels, Dark Angels
The Bad: 8,000
Chaos, Daemons, Dark Eldar, Orks

I would want razorbacks, telion and 3 stormravens with typhoon launchers.
You can make room in the the list for these, probably.

Otherwise reasonable list just doesn't go together so nicely, for example why the MotF?

While it makes a little difference. Since you have the MoF you could switch the dreads to the heavy support slot so if you get Big guns never tire mission they can score.

Noted and changed on the FA slot thanks man.

I am a huge fan of the Libby's use them in alomst all my other list's, but the MotF gives bolster to the scout squads, which I believe will be very popular due to the 9 rending, pinning, precision shots, I'd rather have the 2+ save in this one -vs- Librarian powers.

Yes the Riflemen are spammy but I like a good gun line behind, the FA and the Tac squads, keeps infiltrators at bay and makes a deep strike and flanking move very daring, imho.

@ Adrian I really had to squeeze the points to get this many models, what would you drop to get Telion in, I love the model though I not alot of folks fear him.

@ MFletch you got me bro I don't know what a Storm Raven is? I run Razors usually as well as Libby's but I wanted to mix it up some, see if my portable bunkers will last with the Tac squads in them. Motf to bolster the scouts.

@U1ltramarine I wasn't aware of the Big Guns mission, though I do now and I"ll read up on it, thanks for the info.

Out of what I played so far, I will tell you, those Rhinos, or even if you go with Razors, will NOT last at all. Most of the time my transports don't get past turn 3 now.

Edit: and yes by transports I include my LRC holding asslt terms, which had been undefeated until 6th. Now its exploded in TWO back to back battles.

This is pretty clever, if you're keeping MotF.

Good looking list in any case. Only thoughts:
-Telion is even better now in 6th. Since cloaks now improve cover by 1 rather than giving stealth, telion+camo cloaks gives the unit +2 to cover.
-Storm talons must start in reserve. Since you have no bonuses to reserve rolls, I don't think they're reliable enough to spend 1/5 of your points on unless you're facing loads of enemy fliers. Have you thought about using their points on something like two vindicators, 2-3 predators, typhoon speeders or more fast melta?

Hmmm, to get the extra points for Talion you would have to take a SB from you HQ, take away all the cloaks, and take away one spare scout.

Thats 48 pts, I don't anyone will kill you for being 2 points over.

You can run the HQ with the rhinos, or put them under the snipers as CC support. You can use the bolster defense and talion's stealth instead of the cloaks but when Talion dies, so does his ability.

you still get 10 shots out of the squad but 2 are BS 6 and choose there targets.

Rhinos have always been fragile. If mine are still alive on turn 3, they are larking around tank shocking/storm boltering things, with their payload already delivered. If they get blown up early, the sarge just brushes rhino bits off his armor and tells the squad "Looks like we walk from here on out"

A LRC with a full payload of mean is going to draw pretty much all the fire from the other side of the board. That said, seems like you had a bit of bad luck. One thing about the new rules, and being glanced to death, is that you should be fine up until you are dead. Less chance of a lucky immobilize early stranding you in the back field.

This list has enough targets that I think the rhinos should be OK.

Adrian are you saying Combat squad the scouts with Telion ? So to receive the 2 separate target ability? I know Telion can use the "Voice" but where does the second one come from ?

Almarine: Storm Talons don't have to start in reserve unless they are escorting another unit in from reserve, or that's what I've read. Clue me in if I'm wrong here.

All flyers have to start in reserve right? I don't have the storm talon rules so maybe they're an exception but that would be kind of uncalled for. Everyone has to start flyers in reserve except space marines?

Telion's gun is heavy 2. He can target any model in a unit. That was all that is meant.

You will want Telion and cloaks, so all your models get +2 for cover, and an automatic 5+ cover when just casually walking in the open.
This will lead to having 10 models with 2+ cover saves in a reasonable position on the field, with reasonable shooting power and scoring. That is pretty great. Nay sayers will point to cc and flamers and whirlwinds that ignore cover, but seriously the risk of losing the cover is mild in most battles.

Oh ok i got ya I took the MotF to bolster the terrain pc to give the scouts the 1up + the camo cloaks +1 to give them the same thing as Telion. However with Telion I wasnt thinking about the out in the open 5+. But the scouts will just hang in cover unless flushed out.
