So I have very recently started collecting and assembling the models for warhammer 40k, I just finished painting my first imperial guard platoon (command squad and three infantry squads) and while I have plenty of experience painting and assembling models from my time as a kitbasher with Star Wars miniatures I don't yet know much about the lore of warhammer and the rules are still being learned...it doesn't help that my rulebook is fourth addition..... >.> haha

Though I may collect more models later, my focus is on an imperial guard army for casual play - in all of my gaming habits i tend to avoid competitive play - that is going to be focused mostly on infantry and light armor, I may be one of the few guard players that doesn't use armored company haha

thanks, and that's been the way I've always played...which is why I stay away from most tournaments...in the Star Wars game i mentioned I would often bring a squad of clone troopers - which are competitively unplayable - because I liked them, and in Magic the Gathering I don't play tournaments because I don't want to always play with and against the same type of deck....I guess the gaming term would be a Timmy haha

A well modeled and painted guard army is always an impressive sight.

When I get my camera working I shall do such...because of my past gaming habits where I'd customize minis I am purposefully making each guardsman's pose as unique as possible, so the army should look pretty intense when its done...I especially love all the bits in the company command set, my favorite may be the head with the cigar in the mouth
