Hey guys,

Been playing with new army lists for 6th Ed. Want to start at 1000pts and get used to the new rules but bearing in mind that the list will eventually be expanded.

100 - Wolf Priest

170 - (9) Blood Claws w. Melter in. Rhino

150 - (5) Gray Hunters w. Melter in. Razorback w. LC&TLPG
150 - (5) Gray Hunters w. Melter in. Razorback w. LC&TLPG
150 - (5) Gray Hunters w. Melter in. Razorback w. LC&TLPG

70 - Landspeeder w. MM&HF
70 - Landspeeder w. MM&HF

120 - Predator w. Autocannon and (2) Lascannons

- 1000pts

I know Wolf Priests and Blood Claws arn't considered the best units, but they're a cheap option that still have the potential for hurt.

The Rhino will generally head straight at the enemy and distract them by getting as involved as possible while the GH's and predator form up in the midfield.

The speeders will harass / suicide as needed, or hang back to deny objectives late game.

Speeds cant contest anymore and are super easy to kill now. not worth the 140 points.
The Rhino, Razorbacks and Predator are both as well BIG risks because I believe 3 glances and they are gone.

If your looking to get you GH up the field fast, why not get Drop Pods (and add metla's or plasma's to GH)?
also get some LFs for supporting fire and Anti-Tank
with the extra points you can also add more GH while dropping the Blood Claws and Adding a Wolf Guard in termy armor to each unit
and maybe a rune priest instead of a wolf priest and give divination powers and take the primus sit him in the back with LF with re-rolls to hits, or drop him in with a squad

100 - Wolf Priest

I would drop him for a Rune Priest, With all the new emphasis on psykers you will benefit greatly from having a rune priest. Plus they have some great power and Prescience is wonderful.

The problem is not that Blood Claws are bad it is that Grey Hunters are better. I would drop the Blood Claws combine Units to give you either 3 Squads of 8 OR a Squad of 10 with Double Plasma and 2 Squads of 7 one with melta. I would also drop the Razorbacks in Favor of Drop Pods that will save you 40 points per vehicle which is almost enough to put a Long Fang Squad on the board.

Too easy to blow up not worth the suicide or points, Drop em and Get Long fangs for transport and troop killing. With glancing hits stripping hull points automatically LF can do work with just Heavy Bolters which is a cheap unit.

120 - Predator w. Autocannon and (2) Lascannons

Same thing as above to me it is a lot of points for something that could be gibbed pretty much right off the bat. My suggestion would be to drop them for Long Fangs as well. They are imho the only HS choice that should be taken in the space wolves book. I might take a vindi here and there but as dedicated Heavy Support I do not think anything compares.

You've got so many melta guns in this list that it feels like a 5th edition list... You don't have to be so worried about armor in 6th Ed.

Blood Claws cost exactly the same amount as Grey Hunters, but their characteristic profile is suckier.

So your opponent will shoot this Rhino first and then your poor blood claws will be stuck out in the open with their bolt pistols an meltagun. They'll have to run for two turns just to get within 12" to shoot their guns.

Suicide yes. If you ever get close enough to use that heavy flamer, it will die on the very next turn. Again...You've already got a meltagun in all of your troop squads, why do you need two more in the Land Speeders? Or better yet, give all of the grey hunters plasmaguns intsead.
