Hello Dakka- first topic here and Im looking for a start for my High Elves army.

I have access to the IoB starterbox, have bought 1 Noble / 1 Mounted Prince (or rather given to me). 1 unit worth of High Elf Silver Helms (I think).
1 Lord on Dragon box and last 1 unit of Archers.

Where shall I begin- even though Dragons and stuff isnt good enough in 8th Ed I would like to use it due to awesomeness of the model and such. Will primarly be playing comp. lists but for starters I will be facing 2 new players that I started with. But I want to win.

So- where to begin- where to expand and what to do?

We need a bit more information before we can help guide you to a list.

What units do you own for sure?
What units do you absolutely want to take?
What units do you NOT want to take?

I can give you some cookie cutter 2500 lists but I'll tell you right now they won't include anything from IoB except the mage and swordmasters. If you can model the Silver helms to look like dragon princes then you have a start, but silver helms themselves are pretty bad right now since they are not core.

And if you want to win, that dragon won't work well at that most of the time.

And if you are using comp outside of the core rules, we'd need to know that as well. The cookie cutter builds are min/maxxed to be competitive at tourneys.
