Shrieking Guardian Jetbiker
|
Been playing my Eldar in 6th and have really had a rough go of things using just my Craftworld codex. The change to troops in vehicles no longer being able to capture objectives has really sent me back to the drawing board. This is my first attempt with DE allies as I'm using them to bolster my troops.
HQ
Farseer- Guide, Fortune, Stones, RoW (140)
Haemonculus- Liquefier (60)
Troops
3 Jetbikes- Cannon, Warlock, Embolden SS (129)
3 Jetbikes- Cannon, Warlock, Embolden SS (129)
8 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer (110)
Raider (60)
8 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer (110)
Raider (60)
Elites
5 Fire Dragons (80)
Wave Serpent-Cannons (100)
Heavy Support
Fire Prism (115)
Fire Prism (115)
3 War Walkers- Scatter Lasers (180)
Just looking for any and all help with the list. I have 112 pts left over at this point with really no clue where to go from there.

Haywire grenades on wyches. Bring the first wych squad to 9 bodies (joined by Haemie, right?) and the second wych squad to full 10 and don't forget to take special wych weapons on them (my choice is shardnet+impaler, though many swear by razorflails). If You intend to attach Farseer to the second wych squad, keep in mind that he has to cast fortune and guide on himself, which is then transferred to DE unit - technically they are not Eldar unit so cannot be the target of Farseer's psipowers.

I like guardian jetbikes, but am not sold on embolden. I think you can afford about 5 squads of 3 with a cannon and nothing else for the cost of the 2 you have and the 122 spare points

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Alright Thanks for the help guys here is the list tweaked 1500 HQ Farseer- Guide, Fortune, Stones, RoW (140) Haemonculus- Liquefier (60) Troops 3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76) 3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76) 3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76) 9 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer, Shard/Imp, Heywire (148) Raider (60) 9 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer, Shard/Imp, Heywire (148) Raider (60) Elites 5 Fire Dragons (80) Wave Serpent-Cannons (100) Heavy Support Fire Prism (115) Fire Prism (115) 3 War Walkers- Scatter Lasers (180) Still have 66 pts left to work with I was also curious as to the viability of Venoms in this kind of a list. I know most of their durability comes from numbers and that just isn't possible with allies but does adding 3 or so have any viability?

TBH, the liquifier isn't going to be doing a lot, so drop it. You could also cut 4 wyches and turn their raider to a venom, which would nearly give you enough points for a DE flyer, which would be quite useful whether you go for the lots o' missiles or S9 lances. Alternatively, Ravagers are very good at anti-tank or anti-TEq, whichever you equip it for.

CaintheHunter's advice is good. I disagree with p_gray99's on the liquifier though. They're loads of AP3 or less fun!

Opponents hate 'em, so yes 3 venoms would be a good add. However, run your list as is ... with a 2nd liqui-haem for your last 60 or so points, Pain Token boosting the 2nd set of girls.

Liquifiers are good fun when you roll a 3 or less, but you fire it once, charge, then the haemy gets killed because they're simply not at all survivable. Wyches enjoy long, drawn out fights, and a few basic marines will quite happily take care of a haemy in one of those. So yeah, 10 points for a 50% chance at a great marine killer, but TBH if the wyches are about to charge, it's not going to do an amazing amount.
And yes, venoms are good. I recomend putting them at the front of your army at the beginning so that they soak up shots the raiders would have taken otherwise as they automatically start with flickerfields.

Often, I would have my haem stand off to the side, hose 'em down, and not have him attached to the girls.
Now though, in 6e, he can't be singled out in h2h. Challenge? Pffff! I'll easily have him give a snotty 'no' and let him take a spare wound, not swinging if need be. Then again, maybe I would want him to 'take one for the team' if facing a particularly nasty enemy IC (Necron Lord with Warscythe? Go for it, haemy!) and let the girls shred the troops. Necrons lose fight ... take a rough Morale Check and run 'em down!
It depends. Lots has changed in how he would be used.

In fact, Haemie is supposed to stay onboard of Raider, when wyches disembark. Not that it would offer him more protection , but at least he stays away from cc.
What to do with your new list and Venoms - they work en masse, true, but You could experiment with one Trueborn unit (3-4 bodies) with blasters - they are sort of Your Fire Dragons, but they are in open-topped vehicle. They also present another target to be considered and Your Fire Dragons are no more "all eggs in the same basket". You can also experiment if Reaver Jetbikes might have some synergie with Guardian Jetbikes as well - there is a huge potentional for Corsair themed list...
Just to say, in my DE primary list, I have reserved point for one Farseer (possible Eldrad upgrade) with 5 Pathfinders and toying with the idea of fielding one Fire Prism. The majority opinion is that Warwalkers are better, but I am carried away with that AP2 LONG range blast template thingie.... My DE list contains Baron, Haemie, warriors in Venoms, beastmasters, wyches. 2 Ravagers and Razorwing.

Thanks to everyone for the help I have two lists here which I'm considering using
This first one uses the larger squads of Wyches In Raiders. The Farseer joins the squad of 8 using fortune and Doom on his ow targets and conferring that bonus to the wyches. Venom Blades are just there to fill my spare 10 pts
HQ
Farseer- Doom, Fortune, Stones, RoW (145)
Haemonculus- Liquefier, Venom Blade (65)
Haemonculus- Liquefier, Venom Blade (65)
Troops
3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76)
3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76)
3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76)
9 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer, Shard/Imp, Heywire (148)
Raider (60)
8 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer, Shard/Imp, Heywire (138)
Raider (60)
Elites
5 Fire Dragons (80)
Wave Serpent-Cannons (100)
Heavy Support
Fire Prism (115)
Fire Prism (115)
3 War Walkers- Scatter Lasers (180)
The second list uses Venoms instead of Raiders and adds in a group of Blasterborn. Haemie would go with the trueborn and Farseer would be in with the fire dragons.
HQ
Farseer- Doom, Fortune, Stones, RoW (145)
Haemonculus- Liquefier (60)
Troops
3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76)
3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76)
3 Jetbikes- Cannon (76)
5 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer, Shard/Imp, Heywire (100)
Venom- Splinter Cannon (65)
5 Wyches- Hekatrix, Agonizer, Shard/Imp, Heywire (100)
Venom- Splinter Cannon (65)
Elites
5 Fire Dragons (80)
Wave Serpent-Cannons (100)
3 Trueborn- 3 Blasters (81)
Venom- Splinter Cannon (65)
Heavy Support
Fire Prism (115)
Fire Prism (115)
3 War Walkers- Scatter Lasers (180)
So which one of these lists looks the most formidable?

i like the 2nd list better, but there are a few changes.
5 man wytch squads are anti-vehicle. They simply dont put out the damage to kill infantry. Dont bother with the agonizer or hekatrix. Simply haywire grenades should do.
With the points from that, grab eldrad. Throwing doom around with poison shooting is very strong. War wakers need guide also if they are running scatter lasers. Otherwise, just throw cannons on them because it has a much better point cost and does similar damage.
WS need EML or scatter lasers to be effective. 100 points is too much for a transport with just cannons.
I find fire dragons much better with an exarch, pike, and crack shot. It gives you a lot more ability to position since on guy has a 18" range or a 9" melta. Also, ignoring cover saves and re-rolling wounds has saved me so much that the 25 pts for the exarch is worth it. BS5 and WS5 is also helpful. 6 man fire dragon squad beat 4 terminators to death over 2 rounds of combat in the last Ard Boys i was in. They didnt kill a single one in shooting, but man are they beasts in assault (irony).

zephoid is correct - I'd combine both wych squads into one, take the Haemie with Liquifier with them (there is not much sense to give him Venom blade since any decent challenger will take him out before he even strikes - being at Initiative 4 does not help really).
