So I have a Chaos/Daemon list I am working on. In it I have Aboddon and Epidemus. The question is, do the wounds that Abby make go toward the tally for nurgle? He does have the benefits from all 4 parts of chaos but doesn't spell it out in print if he is considered a follower of nurgle.

"...and now bears a unique Mark that combines all of the gifts" Does this mean he just has the gifts and that's it? The page goes on adding how the power of tzeench effects his inv but doesn't clear up any of the other marks.

What do you think?

Tally of Pestilence makes clear what constitutes a follower of nurgle.

this is an exhaustive list of what constitutes a follower of nurgle, and Abaddon is neither of these things.

What about the rule for the mark of chaos ascendant which reads something like "Abbaddon has the mark of all four chaos gods and these are reflected in his profile". The mark of chaos ascendant includes the mark of nurgle.

Abbadon has the mark of nurgle, and all the others, his rules list it as the mark of chaos ascendant, but it contains all 4 marks, and he benefits from all 4 marks at once.

Saying abbadon, who is blessed and chosen by all 4 gods at the same time is not included for purposes of the tally is rather silly.

The Mark of Chaos Ascendant says he has "attained the favour of each of the Chaos powers in turn" and has "melded the Marks of Chaos granted to him, and now bears a unique Mark that combines all of the gifts", further after mentioning the mark of Tzeentch it just says "The other benefits are included in his profile" benefits of what, we aren't told.

Nowhere does it say he actually posesses the marks of the 4 main gods, you could maybe make a case for Tzeentch because of the way it is mentioned, but certainly not any of the other three.

Not silly at all, it's the rules. Fluff =\= rules. This isn't even rule lawyering.

From page 46 Chaos codex ---

"Abaddon has attained the favor of each of the Chaos powers". "Abaddon has melded the Marks of Chaos granted to him, and now bears a unique Mark that combines all the gifts." This means he has all the marks and rolled them up into a ball and calls it Mark of Chaos Ascendant. This gives him all the marks at one time.

"Because of the Mark of Tzeentch the invulnerable save provided by his armour is increased to 4+.". This is added information that was not put into his stat line. It is also giving and example of what a particular Mark is giving him.

I think that what Drunkspleen is looking for is the exact wording that gives him all the Marks. I can understand this. I don't agree with it. But can see what he is saying.
