Hi all,
So I found one rule confusing... I play SM and field librarian... So what's confuzin to me is old and new psychic powers.... In faq, it says that you can choose either to go with old ones or new ones, but what is puzzling me is when do you do that choice... Is it during army creation or during start of game... Let me simplify a bit... As I see it there are three options:
A) during army creation you choose if you will follow old rules and pick two powers from codex or go with the new rules and roll for powers during start of the game from rulebook....
B) Durin start of he game you make a choice to go with old ones and THEN pick two, or go with new ones and roll
C) you have to choose two powers from old codex, but during start of the game you can choose to stick with them or use new rules and roll for new ones...

I don't know if it has been asked or answered already, but I'm on my mobile phone on vacation/work till end of summer so would apriciate answering again if it is so
Thx all

If the Psychic powers are chosen from your codex best practice is to have them written on your lists. This is to ensure you, and your opponent, aren't just changing your mind mid-battle for advantage.

If the Psychic powers are generated from the rulebook this is done before the armies are deployed so your opponent can witness the die roll. (Generating Psychic Powers on page 418)

Answer is in the FAQ; mostly.

At list Creation you assign powers from the Space marine Codex.

Then before deployment, if you choose to generate powers, you do that instead.

So... C

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Does that mean, I can write up a list for space wolves and then at the last minute just go "nah want the generic powers now"? Would a TO allow this thing?

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Yes they would, as you do not decide until you are ready to begin deployment. Even in a tournament you can go your standard powers one game, and go with the book powers another. Remember, you must have the two psychic powers from the space wolves codex to be able to trade in. It's just a matter of, you don't have to trade them in if you don't feel like it for a game.

Didn't see first reply... I think you missunderstood the question... Check second reply by Kel to see what I'm talking about...
As for changing mind, I think Kel is right... I can take my upgraded libby goi and vortex, and then if I find that generic 6th edition powers would work better, switch it...

You would always need to have codex specific powers in your army list, as you need to have them to swap them out.

If you choose to stick with those powers they are the ones you must have

If you decide to change, you replace them all with powers from the rulebook, at deployment.

But your list will always need the original codex powers on it.

Ok I was looking at it as you replace the codex choices while writing the list. My bad.
