It was a friendly game and when I rolled for my warlord trait (before mission type selection) I rolled up tenacity. Great! Just what I wanted for necrons, even more "not dying" shenanigans. The problem was, when we rolled mission type it was "purge the alien". So...technically the "objectives" in that match are every enemy unit. So, does my Warlord and any unit he is attached to get FNP when within 3" of any enemy unit or is that trait pointless for that mission type? We couldn't decide, my friend was hesitant to let me have that much of an advantage (though I didn't feel it really was, but immortals with Imotekh that also have FC and CA from anrakyr, and then FNP...pretty brutal for just immortals) we decided that I was allowed to re-roll my trait since this was more of a learning session game than anything. But, what is the communities call on this?
Look Out Sir - I've read the rules and all that but when playing it we couldn't really figure it out correctly (though we just made a snap decision to make the game continue)...so, I shot my warriors with a Lord with staff of light into his BT squad with Emperors champ. His EC was closest to the squad and since I have mixed AP and STR weapons shooting at him and he has mixed saves, we played it that I forced him to make the AP 3 rolls first (forgetting the EC has a 2+) and then the warrior shots. He in turn allocated all the AP3 hits to his EC (as suspected) but was saying that had he failed any of the wounds he would Look Out Sir. I told him he couldn't because the rule for LOS said you decide before making your save when you have mixed saves. He then said it wasn't mixed saves if all the allocated wounds were on his EC so he was only rolling a 2+. Now, he made all his saves so it didn't really matter in the end, but I really hate this LOS rule that works differently in two situations that can apparently be interpreted in different ways. They really should have just made it happen before or after armor saves "always". So, does just having the EC in the squad mean he has to LOS before armor saves? Remembering that the rulebook does state you can LOS on a wound or unsaved wound.
Wraith and whip coils - If I assault with my wraiths but he can't get someone into combat at all on his pile in (Init 6) but then on my pile in (Init 1, dangerous terrain) I'm able to get a wraith into base contact with said model that couldn't attack on his initiative, would he then get his attacks at init 1 since he didn't get to earlier? We ruled it as yes, so I ended up not piling into that model. I know this is a point of argument on the board here.
Chariots and Charging - Does the Character on a chariot benefit from rules such as Furious Charge when assaulting on a chariot? I figured it was a "no" since it is not the character assaulting, it is the vehicle. But is this true?
Anrakyr - Can he now use Mind in the Machine from an open topped transport? Be it a chariot (CCB) or Ghost Ark?

Objectives are clearly defined, so no FNP for being within 3" of an enemy - they are not objectivews!
Yes - if he was reduced to I1 he gets to attack at I1. Howevr whip coils are just painful....
No, he cannot use MitM. No chaneg from 5th, as you have no permission to draw LOS for any purpose other than firing. Only 1 person things differently, based on parsing a sentence entirely the opposite of how English language tells you to.

The "objectives" are wiped out enemy units, so no to that one.
Look out sir was done wrong. He should have LOS first then made saves in a mixed save situation. The wound or unsaved wound thing is to cover the two situations, when there is the same armour save then an unsaved wound can be LOS but when it is mixed only a wound can be LOS.
Edit, nm combat stuff.

That's what we figured, glad he let me re-roll but honestly most of the warlord traits are pretty useless for necrons. *Sigh*
Again, that's what we figured. As long he hadn't already attacked, he shouldn't get to attack twice (say if he attacked at I6 and then got in BtB with wraith he couldn't/shouldn't attack at I1 as well, but that didn't come up anyway).
Ya, figured as much but I remember that the FAQ that made it so he couldn't was a BRB FAQ for 5th, I don't think it was actually in the rulebook. At least not stated as such. I couldn't find anything in the 6th edition book that would disallow it but again it didn't come up during the game so we didn't worry too much about it. Is it under shooting from vehicles or open topped vehicles or what section?

It WAS in the rulebook - there was never any permission to do it. Just nobody caught it before the FAQ. I just assmed it worked, for one.
Shooting from vehicles - fire points - you only have permission to fire, drawing LOS and measuring from the fire point. Ditto open topped, no allowance to draw LOS for any other reason than firing. There is a general exceptiion for psychic powers, but not non-shooting, non-psychic powers.

The chariot is charging, not the Character, so no.
