Ok, so I've been slowly building my SW army up, and have had a box of WG Termi's sitting around for a while that I'm finally going to get around to adding in. Anyway, my question is not specifically how to load out WG TDA for my list, but instead what many people are finding effective in generally here in 6th edition. Prior to 6ths drop, I had played with the idea of running a really tooled up set of them (PFs, Chainfists, TH/SS, wolf claws, etc) but this seems unnecessary to me now, as their standard loadout allows me to put Power Axes on them instead and achieve pretty good results. Opinions on this? Still worth it to have one model in there with TH/SS? I'll still be putting one with Cyclone.

Not looking for a be all, end all answer, just trying to generate some ideas so all input would be great! Thanks!

There are several different things you can do with WG termies because of the ability to mix and match their weapons.

With the basic terminator you can choose to either have I4 S4 ap3 with 2 attacks or be I1 S5 ap2 with 2 attacks. They also have a stormbolter.

However, for 15 points you can get both a wolf claw and a powerfist. Now you get to choose each assault phase to be I4 S4 Ap3 with 3 attacks with rerolls or I1 S8 AP2 with 3 attacks. No shooting however. I really like this configuration as they seem to be the ultimate multi tool.

As for TH/SS guys, if your considering taking two to soak up incoming AP2 shooting, I'd advocate taking Arjac instead. He is a little more points than two TH/SS guys, but you don't loose anything once he takes his first wound and he gives you stubborn for the unit, a shooting attack with his hammer, and a monster duelist.

Also, consider the idea of the Pack Leader and what they can bring to a unit of Grey Hunters. Stick them in the front to soak up wounds on a 2+, and in the assault phase of when you pop your banner, thats a rerollable 2+.

Consider Lone Wolves in TDA as they are fantastic in this edition. The wolves as war gear can take the LoS! rolls on him, he can take TH/WC and have 4 attacks on charge/counter charge, and of course he's got FNP and EW (CAUTION: highly debated as of now) which depending on your interpretation always grants him his FNP roll. Mix that in with his monster hunter rule and he is a bad ass.
