Just wondering if anyone had one of the Battlefoam Stacker Racks or had seen/used one and what their thoughts were...

Seems like a nice shelving option that fits the foam nicely and looks good to boot... Any insights on them?

While I am a huge supporter of Battlefoam this looks a lot like a standard bookshelf with adjustable shelving. You may want to check local furniture stores to see if they have something similar.

This.

I love their bags and their foam, but this is a bit silly. I'd go for IKEA kits, as it will match my current shelving, anyway.

Those two posts above mine......This.

Know when to draw the line. Unless Battlefoam's prices on this specialized urban foam storage utility are really really cheap, buy a shelf.

Yeah... Ikea. "Billy" bookcase. It's basically the same thing, and I'm willing to bet Ikea's is less than half the price.

The attraction here is that the BF stacker fits BF trays by design. The most other generic shelving units do not. The shelving I have is not wide enough to accommodate two BF trays side by side width-wise. So I end up having some trays with about an inch overhang, and the other trays with 4+" of overhang. That Ikea Billy looks has the same issue. At 31.5" total width, the interior width between would be about 30.5 and not wide enough for two 15.5" wide BF trays to go in with 1" overhang.

Almost any shelf will fit a BF tray, what you mean is that it fits snuggly. Thats not really a necessay feature in a shelf. If it fit on/in then it works.

This is a daft product designed to get BF fans to buy a sprayed flat packed MDF cupboard, but pay more for the BF sticker.

Pass.

I note that they are also selling "stacker boxes" or cardboard archive boxes as they are known as in this part of the world.

$12.99?

You can get 2 for a fiver here, i'm sure a Walmart will do something similar in the states too.

Sure any shelf will hold a BF tray, but not two side by side in the same orientation. You end up with a lot of wasted space. The BF shelf costs more but is a more efficient use of space.

We call the cardboard boxes Bankers Boxes here and I can get 10 of them for $20. But they don't fit a BF tray.

Yeah, it's nice that the BF shelf is made just the right size to fit their trays, but a tape measure and saw will do the same thing. You can buy the pre-drilled adjustable shelves in most DIY stores.

I'll allow that building your own isn't the best option for a good many people, but when it comes down to it, I feel the price of the shelf outweighs its usefulness.

Also, when considering buying one, keep in mind that MDF shelves are heavy. You're probably looking at another $25 in shipping on top of the $110 for the shelf.

I believe the "Bonde" shelves are about two inches deeper and wider.

I bought one for the same reasons some listed above. Compact for the limited space I have in the nerd room, fits trays perfectly with no wasted space. All told Im happy with it.

Or just build your own custom tray shelf. Would take maybe 2 hours, and cost maybe $50 in total + work. Cheaper if you use cheaper material.

However looks like a quality made/finished cabinet.

As always time vs money few people have both.
