Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd share with you my first attempt at a full painting tutorial video based on painting the Chaos Space Marine War band The Cleaved. They are a Nurgle based type of CSM with black oil and bile oozing from there joints. This was my first attempt at using Sony Vegas to edit my videos. Let me know what you think and thanks.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it. It took a lot of work to get it trimmed down to a reasonable time frame and I'm pretty happy with it but there's room for improvement in the video quality so they'll only get better. I was going for a quick and easy technique while still making them look good. I just need some good ideas for background music =) .

Great vid. Love the scheme and the explanations.

Any thoughts on a Vallejo equivalent to the RMS Ashen Brown?

There may be a matching color in the model color line but with out seing them in person I'm not sure. You can try mixing your own custom color though. I founding can get close to ashen brown by mixing grey with a drop of dwarf flesh a drop or two of purple and a drop of black, with some adjustments here and there. Try that.

I would have went a slight bit easier on the flesh tone, but personality is what makes minis beautiful. 10/10 thank you for giving me my next color scheme.

I'm tempted to do the same thing myself. That new set is gonna be sweet. I've got a chaos termie squad on deck as well that I may do like this.

Very nice. I may have to add a squad of Cleaved as my plague marines.

Fantastic job mate! I've not seen many Chaos Space Marine tutorials so it's great to see some one making some. I'm planning on doing a few myself and it's great to see how someone else is doing theirs!

I look forward to seeing more of you work.

Really good job. You nailed The Cleaved!!

Just a few critiques for the future

The vid was just a bit long. Could have been edited down by 4 - 5 minutes and been fine, probably.

Your breathing during the down time was slightly loud. Of course everyone breathes, but I don't feel like I've ever heard it on tutorial videos before.

Really great job, though.

Thanks for the kind words and the critique. I'm still working on refining the videos and audio. The original video was actually around 25 minutes so I managed to trim it down quite a bit while keeping what I thought would be useful. On average I've seen videos that are much longer that drag out so my goal of keeping it between 10 and 15 minutes seemed reasonable. The audio is a very finicky thing to master and takes some practice. It will get better.

But all in I'm glad you liked it.
