So probably not very competitive, but still very entertaining nonetheless...

This is the silly list:

HQ:

1498 pts, its a teehee list, but its just soo much S6 firepower, and second turn, both spider squads and all WW arrive on 2+, thats a sudden 76 S6 shots turn 2 (unless very unlucky and rolling 1s for reserves, but still 76 f'ing S6 shots hahaha

You're missing at lest 20 pts, those serpents have to have weapons.

Keep in mind you only need 1 autarch for the 2+ reserves and that str6 will insta-kill them. Also if they roll doubles on a jump they go down. I would drop one and put in a guide seer near the Walkers maybe with the path finders. On t1 utilize cover or you may lose your Walkers due to lack of target saturation. If possible I would fit in Eldrad so he could fortune your Walkers cover saves and guide them. Maybe drop the exarchs on the dragons. Also warp spiders can always deep strike anyway. I've only played 1 mission in a tourney that disallowed normal deepstrike before. So you could drop surprise assault. Lastly if rangers go to ground, they need 6's to hit, rangers hitting on 6's are ap1 precision shots and the rangers would have a +1 to their cover save. (pathfinders for 25 points less. They can't move but they can't shoot if they move anyway. Just some thoughts.

But the 76 str 6 should take down anything, even flyers since all flyers are av12 or less. Should be fun

Well in general, the walkers and spiders would be outflanking/ deepstriking. As well, are you sure they can still ds without suprise assault? I originally thought they could, but the faq made it seem like they couldnt without that exarch skill, would def like some clarification on this.

As far as the points for the serpents goes, i thought that their stock cost included a twin linked shuriken cannon, but if indeed you need to pay for that, then perhaps the cost saved from warp spiders not needing the exarch skill to ds would cover the weapons cost.

As for the autarchs, i got the impression from the codex and faq, that they only add plus1, so 2 autarchs would have the chance to add plus 1, plus2 or no additive to the reserve rolls. As well with regards to the assault jump they can do, the autarchs are attached to the spiders therefore if a double is rolled you can just 1 spider instead of the autarch. Anyways, clarification and referense to spiders not needing suprise assault to ds would be very helpful...

I see nothing supporting Warp Spiders deep striking without the Exarch. They do not have it by default, and the only mention of it is with Surprise Assault. I fully believe you still need the Exarch.

I agree, they are not equipped with jump packs, they behave as jump packs in the movement phase, but otherwise there is nothing in their rules or the FAQ that says they are jumpacks.

pg 412, reference, warp spiders and swooping hawks are listed as "In, J". They are jump pack troops and follow the rules as laid out on pg 47, including the reference to deep striking.

Unless you get those people who play a little too raw. Codex overrules. Oh yeah? Then your vehicles don't have any hull points. Beginning of game they're all wrecked.

Otherwise I like the list. War Walkers have become infinitely more fragile. But Warp Spiders were boosted in near every way. And I've always played them as always able to deep strike. Surprise Assault is worthless as far as I'm concerned. Your troops are obviously lacking. But like you said, not a competitive list.

I thought this originally as well, but then I got into a very convincing argument with someone and was torn. I would have preferred games workshop would have mentioned it in the faq, but its not the first time GW screwed up and forgot to mention something.

You're right that a single autarch adds +1. In 6th Ed, turns 2 and 3 require a 3+ for reserves to come on. So it would come on on a 2+ with 1 autarch.
