If a rapid fire Gets Hot weapon fires two shots and one of the rolls is a 1 and the firer dies from it, will the other shot still be fired?

The reason I'm asking is that the rulebook now says "immediately" in reference to the wound and it seems silly to add that word.

Yes he takes a wound immediately after firing.
As such you fire all your shots and then do saves.

Thanks for the reply. So to be sure I understand how to play it:
- The firer gets a wound and dies from it.
- The second shot is resolved anyway.

Basically, same as fifth.

There is no second shot, you roll two shots together.
As such there's no way to number them, you could have 40 shots and still it wouldn't make a difference.

Sorry if I'm being daft but I'm still not getting it. Let me try to use an example. A space marine tactical rapid fires his plasma gun at 2 orks and they are within rapid fire range. He rolls a 1 and a 6 for his to hit, thereby triggering the Gets Hot. He immediately rolls his save for the Gets Hot wound and rolls a 2 so he's removed as a casualty. Is the other shot, the 6, still resolved against the orks?

What they are saying is that both shots occur at the same time.

The 1 and the 6 are resolved at the same time, there is no 'second' shot, because there is no 'first' shot, both are simultaneous.

I understand that both shots occur simultaneous. But this still does not answer the question: is the Ork hit by the other shot?

Yes, the ork is hit.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
If both shots occur at the same time, the shot fires and the weapon explodes in the users hand at the same time.
So an ork and the firer of the gun take a wound at the same time.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

This is not the case for blast weapons that have the gets hot rule.

Truth. Blast weapons who roll Gets Hot and fail do not fire, non-blast weapons still fire. This is a change from 5th ed, and a welcome one as far as I am concerned. (I use plasma a lot)

5th was the same, blast weapons didn't fire if they "got hot". Non-blast weapons did fire.

What's bad now is that vehicles ARE affected by it. They weren't before.

Well it's still better than 4th as it's only 50%.

Never played 4th, but I'm sure it is. And it's only 50% you just lose a hull point, not like the weapon explodes AND a pen or something ridiculous. Hah.

Well in 4th it was an auto-glance, which wasn't all bad but you'd end up with a useless vehicle.

The only vehicles I can think of that have to worry about it are:
Sentinels
Dreadnoughts
Razorbacks
Any Russ with Plasma Sponsons.

Note that the Predator Excutioner and Leman Russ Executioner lack "gets hot" on their main guns.
