Just started getting into orks and was trying to get a good idea on a solid list to help guide my collecting instead of trial and error. This is what I've come up with so far: HQ: Big Mek w/ KFF, BP - 90 Warboss w/ TL Shoota, PK, BP, Attack Squig and Cybork Body - 120 Elite: 2x 10 ork Loota mobs - 150ea Troops: 2x 19 ork slugga/choppa mobs w/ 1x big shoota and nob ( PK, BP) - 159ea 2x 30 ork shoota mobs w/ 3x big shootas and nob ( PK, BP) - 235ea Fast Attack: x3 Deffcoptas w/ TL Rokkit Launchas - 135 x2 Dakka Jets w/ x3 Supa Shootas, Fighter Ace, RPJ (because it looks snazzy ) - 135ea Heavy Support: x2 Battle Waggons w/ x2 Big Shootas, x2 Rokkit Launchas, Kannon, Armor Plates and Grot Riggers - 145ea Total: 1993 What do you guys think? Thanks!

Hello and welcome to dakka
Looks pretty solid, few general points.....
The KFF isn't as mandatory as it was in 5th, still good though
I'd recommend a bike (t 6) or mega-armour (2+) for the boss
Lootas should be min/max, i.e 5 or 15 because of leadership issues
Generally you should keep to one speed, orks work well when in one wave, I'd recommend bikes, I'm loving these in 6th.
Shoota boyz are alot better the slugga/choppa in 6th, the shooting far outweighs the extra attack in close combat. Snapfiring from open topped b/w is great.
Deffkoptas have leadership issues, if you take bikes then putting a warboss on bike (or wazdakka, his weapon fits with rokkits) with the koptas is a neat fix for this, seperating them when you get a bit up the board so that the warboss can kill something in close combat. This said the bikes generally need a warboss for the same reasons.
These days, with snapfire, it's probably a good idea to put lots of weapons on the b/w's but I just have one big shoota to minimise costs, also I'm finding armour plates to be less worth it than they were.
Thats all for now,
Cheers,
David.

drop the rokkits, kannon, and grots from the battlewagons and take a deff rolla and red paint. deff rolla gets a S10 D6 hits when ramming a vehicle in the movement phase. they help out alot when you want to assault the soft insides of an enemy transport after causing a wreck or explodes result with your boyz or nobz that assault out of the battlewagon.
as for the boyz always take shoota boyz because they soften up your target before your assault or stay inside a battlewagon and shoot lots of shots on the move with snap shooting(hitting on 6s isnt a big deal with orks). they can also hold off an assault with "over watch" and cut enough enemy models off from the front that it increases the chance that the enemy unit wont be able to make their charge distance.
as for preventing trial and error and wasting money on other models you wont use alot, take a look into fast attack lists. do the math with biker and deep striking stormboy lists. with the 6th ed rules fast attack ork models were buffed up from 5th.
an all biker/nob biker list, if you do the math can take a ton of punishment and keep coming.

woops..... forgot about the deff rola, best thing out their, it rocks.
I'd shy away from storm boyz, didn't get buffed as much as first thought, lovely models though.

Yeah storm boys didnt get that big of a buff. Now that they can all deep strike is tempting to try spammin them. But, again an all bike list is way better. I would say thats the best build for orks right now. An all biker list can withstand so much.

I liek the lilst. but I am having some troubles with it.
I am not a fan of mixing the foot squads and the Squads in BW's. If you want to do a BW rush then do that. If you want tide then do that. Mixing is the worst thing an Ork player could do. Adding in another BW and dropping the 3rd squad to 20 saves you a lot of points. Well at least one would have to be 19 for the Mek to fit in with the squad. Then you could add in some nobs in a Dedicated BW with the warboss they will become troops. Another option is to take nob bikers and switch the boss to a bike as well. Very tough unit. A bit more expensive but worth it. Switching those koptas to buggies also frees up some points. You also don't have to worry about failing a LD test with the Buggies. I think 10 lootas are fine. If placed right with some cover they should last for a few turns if not the whole game. I have not found the Jets to be worth there points as of yet, but YMMV.
Anyways I hope this helps.

You know you can not deff roll and assault on the same turn. It is a bit more of a 5th edition tactic. The roller is still a good option of only for terrain and the threat of st10.
I would much rather just have 9 rocket buggies for fast. They are cheap mech and deliver rockets, plus being TL they are reasonable at anitflyer duty.

Thanks for all the feedback!! I really wanted to do the deff rollas(mostly because the idea of literally steam rolling something makes me laugh darkly to myself), but with how easy it is to pop vehicles now the chances of actually being able to use it are slim IMHO. I do really like the idea of dropping one mob to 19 w/ mek in extra BW. The reason I went with deffcoptas and not buggies is that they are much faster, have scout, and have jink and are pretty durable at T5. I dig the Dakkajets purely for their harassment capabilities and should (in theory) prove to be pretty survivable. I'm playing around with adding bikes w/ wazdakka, i'll be posting the revised list here in a couple of days. Thanks again!!

I would consolidate the Lootas into one unit of 15, or load them into a battlewagon. Like, for 300pts (same as the two squads) you could get 13 Lootas in a Battlewagon with 3 big shootas.
Small squads (yeah, 10 is small for Orks) of Lootas out in the open are very easy to kill and/or rout off the table. They can't get nobs and you're fielding them in too small a number to get much out of Mob Rule, and I think they're too big a part of your shooting strategy to not protect a little more.
