Just a curiosity, but have any of my fellow Necron players ever been tempted to use the obscenely expensive royal court close combat blob of five warscythe lords with mindshackles and five time crypteks with a single overlord in the front with 2+/3+ saves? The unit taken as a whole would have to be at least 500 points but... All I want is to show up and send whole units of Nob Bikers or Assault Termies packing. I haven't tried it yet, but the temptation is always there, especially now that Look Out Sir makes the Semipit/shifter combo only necessary on the overlord.

havent tried it but it sounds plausable. If you ran it like that its basicly a necron deathstar. Harlestar, Dark harlestar, Nob Bikers are other versions of a deathstar list and they usually work out to around 500-700 points for the squad. toe to toe with a enemy deathstar may cause you some problems. lords and cryptecs are both W1 I2 models and with A2 and A1 respectivly. the other deathstars will have models with 2 or 3 wounds, much higher init in the case of DE and Eldar, or slightly better init in the case of bikers. and they will all have A2 or better.

Keep the mindshackles in mind though-even if the opponent has higher initiative, up to half a dozen enemy models would be hitting their own.
