Subject: Do you think GW should make amendments to the LRB from the BRB

I had added this bit to a rumors thread, but didn't want to dereail it.
Do you think Games Workshop should make any amendments to the Little Rule Book they usually release in the starter sets from the Big Rule Book? I'd kinda like them to, so a bunch of these silly questions would get answered, but at the same time having paid full retail for my BRB (I was supporting my FLGS - happens from time to time).......I'd kind of be offended if they did. Your thoughts?
Point - Rules clarification, always good.
Counterpoint - Almost immediately invalidates a huge expensive, print run that, IMO, they would not do a revised printing on.
Your thoughts? Should they? Would they? And why?

If the starter set is out next month or later this month, then it's been sent to the printers ages ago. I doubt we'll see any differences. So, it's really an academic discussion at this point. I'm on the side of Should they? Yes. As a company, they have a responsibility to their customers to put out the most accurate and up-to-date product they can when the opportunity arises.

I think it would make more sense to release a FAQ covering this. It could get confusing with two different rulebooks.

3500 pts Black Legion
3500 pts Iron Warriors
2500 pts World Eaters
1950 pts Emperor's Children
333 pts Daemonhunters

I think a FAQ is a much better idea.
As nice as it would be to have updated rulebooks from the printers, think of the hassle it would cause.
You are playing against someone with the bigger "out-of-date" rulebook, while you have the newest one. You might assume they have a FAQ when they don't. Now this may not matter if someone has the actual copy of a FAQ or way to get it, but I could see arguments over what book is right.
Just easier to keep it a FAQ. Keep the base thing consistent and upgrade both at once.

The reason that they don't is because they do not really know for themselves, until the general public, and much of thier more... rabid fanbase mathhammers out, rips apart, and drudges through the new material without the rose colored glasses that they write this stuff with, while at the same time not sufficiently powergamed through the endless "What if's" of business and how they run thier companies. Real business has to be this way, or it falls by the wayside and someone else will come up behind them and bite them.
They will never say- "Oh, wait. we made a mistake with this or that guy- he really is overpowered and has 2 more unfair advantages, then say- this guy over here."
They come out later on with a FAQ, and revist that issue with a smile on thier face, write about it with a good ancidote, and we go on and continue to cry havoc over how GW is being an evil empire.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

The 5thEd BRB and LRB were perfect. They had the same exact text on the same exact page numbers.
Anything beyond that would just cause confusion.
Then again, GW doesn't update their FAQs/Errata often at all, so it would work in printed form.
