First go at the new plague bearers. Still got 5 left, but here's what I got so far. Tried them out for the first time in a team game recently and they definitely saved my bacon tying up some space wolves for 4 turns. Solid unit, solid models, all-in-all I like 'em.
As always, C&C welcome.

Looks good! A little darker than I'd like myself, I prefer the yellowed look, but very nicely executed. How are the models to put together?

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?" |

Thanks!
Not bad really. All you need is a little liquid greenstuff for the necks and places gaps might appear but other than that they are probably the simplest models I've ever had to build. Mold lines themselves were pretty hard to find too. Not sure if that is due to the way they are sculpted or because they are simply made from a brand new mold compared to older models. Either way I won't complain.

Thanks for showing, these look far better than any version the WD showed us, but I suspected they would look great with a paint job like this.
Nice work.

I honestly hated these models the first time I saw them. But after seeing these painted up nicely I am actually thinking of picking some up. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I'd have to agree that WD flopped with their color scheme. They are really nice models. The only thing I don't like about them is the one or two wierd fly heads that come with it, but fortunately GW foresaw this and gave you enough proper nurgle heads to make 10 plague bearers. The other nice thing is that there is enough of the little nurgling dudes to make you a single base of nurglings. So if you get two boxes of these guys and a box of actual nurglings you've got a potential of 5 nurgling models right there.

Now that I am thinking of picking up some of these would it be possible to get the colors you used to get that skin color?

Sure, no problem:
Base: Tamiya Khaki Drab
Drybrush: Either Elysian or Straken green (I think. Not at home so I'll have to check later)
Inflamation/Gums: 1:3 mix of Gorthor brown and pink horror
Pustules/intestine: 1:4 mix of any yellow and screaming skull
Teeth: screaming skull
Horns: blend of black to brown to screaming skull
Eyes: however you prefer to do this normally (i just use white and dot on a black pupil)
Sword: Boltgunmetal and then splotches of bestial brown for rust effect
After all that give it a good wash in Earthshade. Once it all dries do a more detailed wash in the recesses and a second wash on the sword.
I was basically doing my best to replicate the forgeworld greater demon look and I think I got the general colors close as that was my comparison for painting these.
Hope that helps!
Drybrush was actually Death World Forest.
