Hi guys,

Sorry if this has already been answered, but ive had a good look through and did a search, but couldnt find it.

I had a game vs a Daemon player yesterday, and they were using Screamers with some special Swooping attack. Can this be used on flyers?

I let him use it against my razorwing, as we couldnt find any reference to it at all.

Thanks

Karl

It's one of those attacks that fall into the grey area of being neither shooting nor assaulting, much like the Bladevanes of the Reaver Jetbikes and a number of other attacks.

Since it's not shooting it's not limited by the Flyers' Hard To Hit rule which only applies to "Shots resolved at a Zooming Flyer" and since it's not assaulting it's not governed by the Assaulting Zooming Flyers rules.

This is a roundabout way of saying yes, assuming the Screamer rule allows the attack to be used on vehicles (I haven't personally had a chance to look at the chaos daemons dex update) then they can use the attack as normal on Flyers.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

It can only hurt Ork and DE flyers at the moment, but it is surprisingly effective at doing them in.

Valkyries and Vendettas have rear armour 10 that is also vulnerable (assuming it can be used on vehicles)

I thought the screamers ability will be resolved against the side armor, not the rear?

Oh, I hadn't considered that it might tell you what facing it hits, I had only heard the rule for wounds direction being derived from their final location and assumed the same applied.
