rainbow dashing to your side

so, now that I've started taking TGC's a little more seriously (rather than putting all the pretty cards in my deck and hoping for the best :3) I feel the urge to get myself a good game matt to play on. The problem is, I have a design that I want but cant find any good DIY sites to make my own (the UK seems devoid of such a thing :/) so I've decided to make my own from scratch. so, here's the question: how would I go about doing this? I assume grabing a blank playmatt and sending it off to a printing company would work but I'm not sure if the quality would be any good. alternativly I could give them the image and an A2 sheet of material and just cut matt out. If I were to go for this option what material would be best for the job?

thanks for any help ^_^
