Hello everybody!

I have decided to make a list that could survive in 6th ed.

HQ

Big Mek w/ SAK and bosspole

Big Mek w/ KFF

Elites

10 Lootas

15 Lootas

Troops

2* 20 shootaboyz w/ 2 big shootas and a nob with bosspole eavy armour and PK

10 grots with runtherd

Fortifications

Aegis defence line

This lands on 1000 points.

The plan is to put the SAK with the grots and hide behind the defence line, where i also have my lootas. The KFF should join the boyz and advance towards the enemy while shooting at anything that moves.

I have never played 6th ed before, nor have I never used shootas. It would be most fitting if someone would give me some feedback on the list and give me some tactical tips.

In my personal opinion, that's a lot of lootas for a 1000 pt army. Maybe drop 5 lootas and replace the grots with some boys to protect the mek behind cover. I honestly don't think grots will last long, with all that 'closest model' stuff going on.

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.

ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.

Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera.

As the SAK will be far away from the enemy, the only way they can be fired at is with long range guns that have so high strength that it wont matter that much. Could it work to have only 15 lootas inside a battlewagon? That way I could get rid of the defence line and have some heavy support for the boys.

I don't really like the idea of lootas in a BW. I understand they can still fire, but only at BS 1. I know that doesn't seem that bad for Orks. but when half of your shots are lost. You will notice it for sure. If the boys are in front of the Lootas then they should still be getting a 5+ cover anyways. That should be fine.

I do agree 25 lootas are a bit over kill in 1K army. Might drop it to a squad of 10. Use those points to add some support. Or maybe just more boys. I hate grots so thats all your choice. I would add more if you plan on using them for cover for the SAG. I really don't think you need the defence line in a 1K game either. Seems a bit much to me.

Hope this helps.

All the cool kids are putting their SAG with MANz. I wouldn't here, it is a bit of fun not sure it is that great.

I would try to fit in some kannons into your list. St8 is dead useful at cracking tanks, if not firing shells into MEQ or hordes.

The other addition I would make is a quadgun or lascannon. It is dead shooty, adds a reasonable amount to your list, deals with drop pods and silly outflanking models, as well as dealing with flyers.

Edit:to be clear, I really do like the list.
