I remember in the previous edition of Codex: DE, the Incubi were often used as bodyguards to the Archon because they had no interest in Kabal politics. Additionally, they actually had a skewed sense of honor and would follow their contract with an Archon to their deaths.

However, in the latest edition, it makes mention of Incubi as bodyguards(but are not in Court of the Archon for some reason), but does not mention their warriors code("zealotry in keeping their contract" I think are the words in the old codex.

Anyone have any other sources they could quote for me?

In Path of the Renegade Morr and his Incubi serve faithfully as the retinue/guards for an Archon. Even to the point of Morr being the second in command when the Archon is dead/away.

Their entry in 5th edition codex states "Some whisper they will even keep their word." so I think they are trustworthy, but it makes no mention as to their loyalty. They were in the previous edition, just wanted to make sure that lore didn't get retconned!

I would assume their loyalties will always be to their temple since they are now effectively an Aspect Warrior. They still seem to be hired out by kabals and have no interest in the politics within them. From the new fluff it seems that they are really only interested in perfecting their methods of killing and use the kabals as a way to go on raids against a variety of foes. It would make sense that they would protect the Archon that hired them simply because she's their ticket to more souls and killing.

I don't think the bodyguard theme has been retconned, it's just that the temple aspect was expanded to be the primary focus.
