My wife just got a makeup airbrush system and didn't like it. I was wondering if anyone knew about the Luminess Airbrush system and if it would work for painting models? I think it's the PC-100 model, but not really sure.

Thank you for any information.

Most of the makeup systems could work - try thinning and putting some modeling paint into it.

There are literally dozens (if not hundreds) of airbrush threads on here...do some poking around...

The only difference between airbrushes would be the company that makes them, the type, and the quality. Unless it's a real piece of crap, it'll work just fine. If it's high quality, you'll be able to do your fine detail work with it as well.

I am stunned that there is such a thing as a makeup airgun. I prefer my women with little to no makeup so this idea horrifies me. I am picturing this being used for people like Mi-mi(sp?) on the Drew Cary show. Or my sister in law, she looks kind of like mi-mi.

It's actually used by professional make up artists on models and stuff. When done right it actually looks really good.

After doing some research on the compressor, it only has one setting, 10psi. So I plan on getting a compressor from harbor freight and buying an airbrush from ebay.

My wife got one too a while back, dunno if it was the same as yours, it came with the makeup in a tank-like apparatus and you could switch from 1 to 12 different shades, i thought something like that would be sweet for painting but there was no way to remove the make up and refill it with thinned down paint, mores the pity. The actual airbrush was detachable though and i nabbed that once i found it was compatable with my compressor, better in fact than the airbrush that came supplied with it
