Stripping models is probably the shared pain of our hobby, it's the one part where 100% no one is having fun... unless you're in to the scent of undiluted chemical cleaners, in which case I suppose you're in hog heaven. So I'm currently working my way through 40-50 sisters of battle and I was wondering, when is enough enough? What do you consider a "finished" strip job? Can there be a little paint left in the crevices? Or do the minis have to look like you just got them off the sprue or out of the blister?

I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn

Well, I guess you decide when to stop... If you're ok with a little paint left over, don't bother removing it.
But then again, these left overs might rub off very easily later, which will suck when you have already painted over them....

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)

What he said. I left pain in the crevices of my nid warriors, and it turned out crappy. But that's my opinion, and I may have left a tad more than I should have. So... ymmv... Strip it clean, get a pick and get the excess out of the cracks for best results I guess.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

Getting stuff out of the crevices isn't all that difficult. Scrub 'em with a toothbrush when they're in the chemical.

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.

ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.

Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera.

I bought a pile of painted minis from the Bay. I soaked a squad of Fire Dragons in green stuff, hit em with a firm bristled toothbrush, then with a plastic grout brush (for tiling, available at DIYs) both several times. I then scraped the paint out of the crevases with a sewing needle. I'm kind of anal about getting them clean, but if they look good with a new coat of primer on them, then I'm good to go.

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

Honestly bro I wondered into the sewing section of my craftstore and bought a 5 pack of thick pointy sewing needles. Cheap as hell ($2) and I've never been happier with their ability to get the little bits of paint out of the nooks and crannies.
