I love vindicators and terminators. I want to build a competitive list that has at least 10 terminators and to run vindis effectively i believe two is required at minimum. I am having sever difficulty building a competitive list with these two requirements. Any suggestions? Any codex will do.

I have a love /hate relationship with anything green.

Blood Angels (fast vindicators) or Black Templars (PotmS vindicators) would seem to me to be a good start given the one can run a priest to give terminators FNP and the other a chaplain to make them hit even harder.

Or Blood Angels with Belial led Deathwing allies.

Follow these two simple rules to ensure a happy Dakka experience:

Rule 1 - to be a proper 40K player you must cry whenever a new edition of the game is released, and always call opposing armies broken when you don't win.

Rule 2 - Games Workshop are always wrong and have been heading for bankrupcy within 5 years since the early 90s.

Dark Angels. Deathwing Terminators with Vinicator support.

Here is an example of a 2000 pt list that I am actually running later today:

Belial with TH/SS
Upgraded DW squad: with two TH/SS, apothecary, DW standard, a chainfist and a CML
4 DW squads with two TH/SS, a chainfist and a CML
2 Ravenwing Landspeeders with TML and MM
RW bike squad of 3. 2 meltas and srgt with meltabomb
2 vindicators with dozerblade and extra stormbolter

This army has worked well for me in the past (though I don't play against many people with fliers) and with a DA codex within the year (hopefully). The DAs will get even better.

DA Deathwing terminators are really the best terminators out there because they are all fearless and can mix and match ranged termies with CC termies.

Here is what I use regularly with the Dark Angels codex.

Belial: LC's
Sammeal: Speeder

Dread: Plasma Cannon
Dread: Plasma Cannon

Terms:
Apoth: LC's
Banner: LC's
Sgt: TH/SS
LC's
LC's, CML

Terms: (Squads x2)
Sgt: TH/SS
LC's x2
LC's, CML
TH/SS

Bikes: x6
Sgt:
Apoth
2x Plasmaguns

Speeder: Typhoon, MM
Speeder: Typhoon, MM

Vindicator: Dozer
Vindicator: Dozer

I have yet to play it in 6th so might need to add those storm bolters to the Vindies. To help protect the Big gun.

In terms of vindicators, they are all good, normal, BA fast, BT potms.

In terms of termies I am going to say just bring deathwing or BT as allies, to get two units of awesome termies. Other codices can bring great termies but to have two units of termies you want awesome termies. Plus as allies these are the two that can bring two.

There are a few possibilities given this.
DA, BT, DA+BT, BT+DA, SW+DA, SW+BT, BA+BT, BA+DA, ultrasmurfs +BT/DA.
Any of them can work. They each have their advantages, what do you fancy?

ehhhh i am not a huge fan of allies.

I'd rather stick to one rule set, at least for the time being.

In that case Deathwing with vindicators as seen above, is very good and gives an idea about that. Personally i would leave Sammael and bikers are home but who doesn't love fast, fearless, FNP, t5, scoring units.

Then Black templars would the other option.
There are a few options here.
I would go for:
2 lots of 5 termies with 2 CML and tankhunter
3 vindicators with potms
Typhoons and MSU crusaders behind an ADL with quadgun.
or:
2 lots of 5 termies with 2 assault cannons and tank hunter in drop pods.
3 vindicators with potms
typhoons and drop pod troops.
