Hello dakka! I've lately been looking at good 500pt IG lists but I really don't want to use what everyone uses. I would still like something at least partially competitive, anyone have lists or ideas? Oh and sentinals are my favorite model so somehow with those? I have tried a few lists I made but its just not working

Theres a reason people use meltas and plasmas. They work. I can understand not wanting to spam a unit over and over but denying yourself 2 of the main special weapons seems a bit much.

Anyway. Vendettas, a Manticore or two and some Chimeras will bring you a long way. Bigger platoons + Rune Priests is really nice too

Sorry I should have been more clear I'm not against meltas and plasma but I dont want to use the vets in chimera that everyone else runs.

Oughtta run at least a few. More vehicles ups the survivability of other vehicles. Saturation is important. Blob squads can be good for backfield scoring/shooting, especially when sitting behind an aegis for a 4+ cover.

What is your opinion on sentinals? Is it possible to play well with those?
