Hey everybody,

I am new to WH40K , and I have decided to collect Chaos Space Marines. I bought a tonne of stuff including a chaos sorcerer and a chaos daemon prince? I read about the psyker abilities.. But I don't get them
So, I was wondering how can I use them and what do they do?! I was thinking about lash of submission, where I read that I can move other people's units! Is this true, because moving the enemy into a small bunched group and then using a Defiler blast or two to blow them sky high

Thanks for everyone's help!!

In fact, the lash allows to move an enemy unit if the cast goes through.
When the CMS codex came out, it was considered as cheesy. But in 5th ed, most of the armies were mech and the lash has no effect on infantry. It became less popular. However, in the 6th, we will see more semi-mech armies out there and so the lash will again become more popular.
On the other hand, a DP with T5 is not hard to take down. As soon as he is exposed to the enemy army it will eventually be shot down.
If you play an Slaaneshi or NM army, the lash is fine. Otherwise, I'd leave it home.
By the way, a lash Sorcerer is able to cast the lash from inside a Rhino.

So you're saying, I can move my mates terminator squad, Marneus Calgar or anything else to where ever I want? How far can I move him, and how do I cast it?

It is VERY clear. Read it again.

Roll 2d6

If that works roll 1d6

If that works roll 2d6

That's about it.

The way the power works is described in the CSM codex.
The way psychic powers work is described in the BRB...
You need both of them and you need to read both of them.

If rumours prove true it wont matter anyway soon as its being removed from the next C:CSM.

This would actually be a good idea. I want the 3.5-th ed codex back with some adaptions.
The actual one is one of the worst ever published.

As stated a Lash in the current edition of the rules is less dependable however it still can be very powerful.

1. Use it to clump up the enemy for blast templates.
This is done either in conjunction with noise marine blastmasters or obliterators in plasma cannon mode. It will devestate an enemy unit when it goes off.

2. Use it to drag an enemy closer for your HTH attacks. This works well with enemy troop types and your berzerkers, terminators or MoS or MoK troops.

3. Move the enemy away. This is a good option with enemy CC troops. It can buy another turn of firing.

Good luck.

Very succinct, and I agree. But it sounds like he's a new player, so...
1: take psychic test. If passed, move onto step 2
2: take shooting test. If passed, move onto step 3
3: using a legal move, move your opponents models according to lash's rules.

All details for those rules are in the brb, except lash's which fit in the CSM codex. After that, if you still have trouble, ask a friend to show you since we can't post actual rules here.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
