I'm planning on shaving off my Cadian's shoulder pads, does anyone know any good tips or tools for this conversion?

Why don't you just get a bunch of the arms with no shoulderpads? They come on almost all of the vehicle sprues.

Or if you're really set on doing it that way, cut away most, then file it down with some sandpaper.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers. |

I'm actually doing that myself at the moment for some old plastic rogue trader era guard conversions, i don't think theres any hard and fast rules to it, just get stuck in with your modelling knife, try and keep the newly exposed shoulder in line with the rest of the arm. I found it easy enough after the first few, a bit of green stuff or similar will fix any over zealous shaving and if you've got a decent supply of spare arms in your bits box it'l hardly matter much if you go too knife happy!

Super glue, keeping modellers fingers in one piece. I've even invested in some of that medical stuff, dermabond.

Mind you:
Don't use a knife for this. A knife seems like the sensible way to do it, but you'll get a better removal effect using heavy duty clippers like you use to remove models from sprues.
I actually have been thinking about doing something similar myself.

Blaggard - Yeah, just a little background about me, I'm sort of my team medic in ROTC. So I got some spare medical stuff lying around too. haha
Kanluwen - I don't know about clippers, I'll see though the problem is some of my guys are already assembled.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
