How do you do it ? I can't make it without the mini looking stupid =(

The way I usually do eyes on infinity figures is to draw a straight line using black paint and then adding small dots of white to the edges. But it all comes down to what type of brush you are using because you are going to need one with a very good point on it.

I'll give it a try =)

Thanks !

Eyes are my painting bane, like, I assume, many people.

I've had some success painting the eye black, the a white line through the middle, then a black dot in the center. But I'm still pretty much a novice painting eyes, which is probably why I tend to go for models which have helmeted heads.

I paint them veeeeery carefully. With a really steady hand and a 000 brush.

Hey that's the tutorial I stumbled across when I asked this question !
Will try this when I start my next mini !

I actually thought at first that that tutorial's not really good, but when I tried it on Infinity miniatures it does actually work!

Hmmm that tutorial looks quite excellent/challenging. I won't bother with my Sisters of Battle because that'd be lethal for a whole 40k army. But I intend to have a pretty high standard when the time comes to turn to my infinity figures. (I'm waiting till I finish my sisters to start my Ari troops to force my hand up to a higher quality level after 30 models practice or so.)

I'd say eyes are the biggest challenge a miniatures painter has over blending, shading, OSL, nothing is as hard as doing eyes that look good to the /human/ eye. The last is the real challenge because from the second our own eyes open on birth we're looking for eyes. That's why people in dark sunglasses are theoretically more intimidating, you can't see their eyes. Be really nice if Reaper had a "advanced" guide for doing pupils and the like.

I arrived with when using said technique, I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with it. I painted up more figures but I haven't photographed them yet.

A friend of mine uses a micro pen to very good effect. I have never needed to paint eyes yet, but that will be my first method I try.

I have been happy with something similar to the tutorial.

I always base with black, which makes a solid place for shading. I use ivory, sometimes two coats, to fill in the eye, before painting flesh. Draw a line downward for the pupils, being careful to try to get the eyes to "look" in a single direction. Then flesh layers to clean up the area.

I'm no pro, but it leaves room for error.

Depending on your faction, I find myself less likely to mess up if I don't paint pupils. Aleph models shouldn't have pupils anyways.

I tried doing no pupils on my Line Kazak but then she really looked like an Aleph trooper =P

wouldn't eyes on an Aleph model be dependant on wether they are cube or not? I do not know the whole fluff, are they all replicants?

Most Aleph non-remotes are Lhosts; essentially human personalities in artificial bodies. Thus, they don't look out-of-place when their eyes are hollow and glowing with a pupilless stare.

Plus, all Aleph units have a cube except the remotes, the TAG, and Posthumans (which, of anyone, having glowing eyes would work).

So there's an advantage to 'accidentally' painting the inhuman staring eyes on Aleph models.

Or just going all out and giving them colored eyes like something out an anime.

I personally would go no eyes on ALEPH models.

Just blank, expressionless faces. I know that to fit in with the Human Sphere they are supposed to look human, but I figure by the time they are doing a combat mission, they are less concerned with fitting in and more interested in causing fear.

Blank faces, blank eyes, not even human skin tones.
