Hi everyone, I was referred to you by Viciator from Astronomican, who said you have a lively fiction section.

I'm the webmaster of www.imperial-literature.net which has a lot of good fiction but its community is all but gone for the moment.

I am more of a reader/writer than a gamer although I am slowly building up respectable Skaven and Daemons of Nurgle armies. Another weird obsession lately is Minecraft - I guess we all know someone who's been sucked into that strange and blocky world!

I'm working on a Warhammer 40,000 prequel series called 20K, but the work is slow and difficult (and immensely exciting). I'm not here to bombard you with links or shove Imperial Literature down your throats but please have a look at my 20K Timeline. I am expecting the 50+ stories to take two or more years; I am currently working on three of them and several are already online.

I am more than happy to host peoples' fiction on Imp Lit and bring some of ours across here with their owners' consent; hopefully this will be a nice little arrangement which allows people to enjoy fiction they would otherwise never see.

Thanks for reading this!

Upcoming work for 2022:
* Calgar's Barmy Pandemic Special
* Battle Sisters story (untitled)
* T'au story: Full Metal Fury
* 20K: On Eagles' Wings
* 20K: Gods and Daemons

Hey dude. Welcome to dakka.

I know you have mentioned a lack of gaming but if you'd like to join us at Maelstrom Games in December for a 40K Narrative Campaign Weekend then I'm sure we could make up for this.

You'd have to bring you Nurglers though as I don't think the Skaven will get very far, even if you have loads of those snazzy looking mortar things!

Here's a link for you to check it out if you like the idea.

Animosity - In the Discordia System

The Campaign Pack is available in the first post for downloading.

If anything you may find my short story introductions interesting!

Thanks.

Ta da for now.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Welcome, I like the effort you put behind your timeline, but I find it a bit overwhelming because it just ...seems to come from nowhere. It's like writing a story without a background, perhaps I didn't dive deep enough?

I liked the electronic mind map however. If you ever choose to edit it, I'd agree with Sholto, the long introduction is airy enough to be slightly annoying, something I myself have deep issues with because I like my readers to have a bit of the setting before walking into it with them, and I can tell that in this story, it's a similar situation. Course it's easy f or me to critique something I can relate to, but I also like the very foreign idea of an AI talking to a Demon, though your descriptions of Virgil's rewards seem.. abstract, even in the incomprehensible world this story is taking place in.

My two cents since I enjoyed your story and you deserve feedback. I like your writing style, it's a deeper, often more intelligent version of mine, though when you back off to "normality" in this story, it kinda seems bland all of a sudden. K I'm done lol.

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome! Wow, this forum moves fast, I only posted my intro yesterday and it's on page 2!!

DemetriDominov: Thank you for your extremely useful feedback. That story is probably not a very good one to start your journey into 20K but it's one of the few 20K stories that is completed and up to my modern writing standards, so for the moment it's pretty much all I've got.

I strongly recommend you read Ghostwalkers which is doing pretty well on the forum. The timeline itself, well, I've set myself a nearly impossible task of 50+ stories which were to begin with the "Fearless series" story, "On Eagle's Wings."

I needed to write minor, unconnected 20K stories to get the hang of my new universe. This process has actually taken several years, including large breaks for real-life things. I believe my writing has improved and my vision for 20K has clarified to the point where I can actually get on with it. Hope you enjoy what's coming.

Geordie - I appreciate the invite but I'd need to learn how to paint them all first lol. My Great Unclean one, Beasts of Nurgle (seriously impressive conversions) and a Herald of Nurgle, who is an old-school Great Unclean One, were purchased fully painted and converted on eBay. (GUOs were £15 each, the Beasts were £30 for 3. Wait til you see them!)

I'll give your short stories a look through! Maybe next year for the gaming, I am quite keen to get into it.

Thanks again everyone. It's good to be here.

Check your site, I threw in a short story of my own. It's similar to yours in the way that it was one of the first I wrote before I understood what I wanted to do with it. Things have changed, but I think you may enjoy it. I'll have to check out the Ghostwatchers story, sounds interesting especially since I enjoyed many of the stories I found on your site regardless of what part of the timeline or author it was from.
