Subject: American Presidential Election 2012, The Battle of Racists?
As we all know Mitt Romney is a Mormon. As you may not know, Mormonism teaches that blacks are an inferior and cursed race. Even now, blacks are treated as second class citizens within the Mormon church. Don't let the ads fool you, the doctrine has not changed and this a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
Obama has made questionable statements and associates with individuals (most notably Jeremiah Wright and Ayers) who are virulently anti-white.
The election almost seems pointless to me. No matter who wins, there will still be a divisive force in the White House and increased animosity between the rich and poor, all races and religions. I seriously wonder if humanity en masse can ever truly integrate.
Has Mitt Romney ever said anything, let alone enacted policy that even remotely looks like he considers black people inferior?
Similarly, has Obama ever said anything, or enacted policy that ever even slightly looked like he was antagonistic towards white people?
Surely that speaks volumes that should completely dismiss the nonsense political attacks that attempt to make big deal out of minor parts of their backgrounds.
This is so far from the realities of politics I honestly don't know what to call it.
“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

There is a history of mixed people judging one another based on skin tone and/or heritage of mixture.
I don't think we can really get completely away from that kind of discrimination, though overall the trend is positive. After all, quadroon and mulatto, thankfully, aren't commonly-used words anymore.

Ignorant at best, slanderous at worst. Your claim that this is a current issue is fundamentally false. Like Barack Obama is a secret Muslim fundamentally false.
From 1849 to 1978, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) had a policy against ordaining black men of African descent to the priesthood. Whereas other churches usually have full-time salaried clergy of whom individual members are often the chief minister to several families, in the LDS Church virtually all male head-of-household church members are part of the priesthood. Under the pre-1978 policy, black men of African descent could not hold the priesthood in this way, and were also prohibited from participating in the temple Endowment and sealings, ordinances that the church teaches are necessary for the highest degree of salvation. However, the LDS Church has always had an open membership policy for all races, but few black people who were aware of the racial policy joined the church.[1] In 1978, church leaders ceased the racial restriction policy for black men, declaring that they had received a revelation instructing them to do so. Today's church opposes racial discrimination and racism.
In 1997, there were approximately 500,000 black members of the LDS Church, accounting for about 5% of the total membership; most black members live in Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean. Since 1997, the black membership has grown substantially, especially in West Africa, where two temples have been built.

Even if the latter sentence is true - and I strongly suspect it is not, though I am not an adherent of that church so can't speak definitively - it's irrelevant. I'd prefer to judge Mr. Romney not by the beliefs of others, but by the content of his character. This whole thing with holding people responsible for the actions and words of third parties - it's crap. It's just total crap, whether it's what Jeremiah Wright or unnamed mormons.
I have seen absolutely zero evidence to indicate Mr. Romney has ever acted or spoke in a way that would indicate he has any racist feelings or beliefs and I think it's a lousy thing to try and imply such with your only "evidence" being the beliefs of a group of people he may not have ever even met.

Well, Romney DID grow up in a church which most definitely did not treat black people equally. He was in his late 20s, right, by the time that policy changed? I don't know if he's racist himself, but he certainly grew up in a racist organization. I rather suspect that he may not be racist, and if he is, probably less so than others of his generation, given the whole moving to the North East thing.

There are crazies in every religion.
Question: Has Romney's Preacher may anti-black statements or said things like "God damn America"?
Was Wright's "god damn America" bit racist? It was incendiary, but the point he was making was not actually all what weird or extreme. He just chose unusually strong words to express it.

Did you not click on the link? Race discrimination was standard LDS practice until 1978.
This is not hearsay, or conjecture, it is fact.

No I didn't click on the link. I also don't click on nonsense about Obama being a secret Muslim socialist intent on destroying America. I don't click on on nonsense that Muslims are in my face, touching my minis

Is "negative statements about democrats" a color your eyes can't actually see?

African Americans could at any time be baptized. They could take the Sacrament or Communion. Only the priesthood was barred.
Now before we talk about how that is racist, if one believes the Bible, God has restricted his priesthood before. The Tribes of Israel were ministered to by the tribe of Levi. (Oft called the levitical priesthood) So even the chosen people were not all able to have the priesthood. And if you were not from the tribes of Israel, tough luck! Even Christ forbade the teaching of gentiles until after he died. He "came unto his own".

Women can't be priests in the Catholic Church. Ordination of women in the Episcopal church is relatively recent and may not hold in all parts of the globe yet. Imams are men.
Thats doesn't make them all sexist or racist. Things evolve.

... not according to certain denominations/groups though eh ?
But I think this sums up the current state of play quite well.
Worry not though, we've ages afore the actual election yet, no doubt we have a veritable torrent of interesting claims, lies, denials, obfuscation and behaviour that makes you just hate the whole world still to come !
