Should be super easy. In prior editions 5th/4th if a blast weapon hit a vehicle the center hole of the template had to be actually on the vehilce for it to be at full strength. If for some reason it was not the hit was at half strength.

I, so far, have not read anything like that here in 6th. Is that rule in play still? Page number please, or reason why/why not.

I did a quick search here but didn't find anything, so I apologize if this is redundant. If it is, send me a link to the relevant thread.

Nope, no matter which part of the template hits a vehicle it is a full strength hit.

Page 73. Got it, read it. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some other addending rule that I hadn't seen that would contradict or otherwise alter it.

So next question. Do I have to target an enemy model with a blast weapon? More to the point can I fire it at a spot on the map? The root of my question is if could hit two vehicles at full strength by scoring a hit in an area between them, would the rules support my targetting choice or no? I think not, but I don't have my BRB in front of me

You answer is in that exact same paragraph. Hole must be over the target.

@Xzerios: That is only for weapons with the Ordinance special rule.

It went back to how it worked in 3rd edition. High-strength large blasts are once again the bane of parking lots. Back in the day my Defilers used to love hitting three or four vehicles at a time which were bunched behind terrain for cover.

Sounds good. Thanks for the answers BlueDagger. No BRB in front of me ATM, and I don't want to be that guy who didn't read all of the rules, missed something two pages down the way, and inadvertantly got away with something.

So I can take advantage of an opponent's unwise crowding by smart placement or by lucky deviation, but I cannot intensionally fire off a target. I'm good with that.

Ya say he bunch's up his vehicles, just place the hole over one of them any where on the hull, ANYWHERE, let the rest of the template do the dirty work. Ive hits multiple vehicles this way since the start of the 6th edition till my playing buddy got the hint to not crowd his vehicles... ) I like the blast markers this way. no more parking lots
