This is a quote from the ork tactics 6e update thread

Pros:
1.) Hull points makes open topped vehicles and maxed squads of Kans and Buggies more durable to glances. Also, make Deff Dreads quite alluring now.

Anyone verified this? I love my dreads but since i have yet to play a 6th game was wondering if they are still good with 4 dccw. i am thinking of a list that looks something like

2x Big Mek Eavy armour, bosspole cybork burna KFF
2x 20 shoota boys w nob Pclaw bosspole and 2x bigshoota
2x troop dread 4 dccw each
3x Dread 4 dccw each
1x 9 lootas

Alternatively drop the 3 HS deffdread for
2x Dakkajet extra supa shoota, RPJ, Fighter ace
and add 3 to the lootas squad

any thoughts, ideas?

Edited: updated - This list sits exactly at 1250.

I run/ran a very similar list in 5th edition. It was not super competitive, but I really liked the flavor of the army. I had the exact same big mek setup as you, same shoota boy setup as you and then 3 mixed deff dreads (because of older models w/o 4 dccw). In 5th I liked the list, in 6th i hate it. The KFF making hem a 5+ cover save wouldn't seem like too big of a hit, but it really does. Most of my deff dreads got downed before they even came close to the enemy (I was fighting guard however) as getting glances simply destroys them with no chance for repair etc (from riggers or meks). As such, long fangs, and autocannon dreads etc will tear them up in a turn or two and leave your boys ahnging out with no heavy hitters.

Also, slogging with the boyz usually means that once you get within 24" you basically make no progress, as the front ranks of your army are whittled down, leaving you only having advanced a few inches. It's frustrating to see and would not recommend it (although that's my experience with it). The Lootas are always a good choice and the more of them you have, the better. Also, Dakkajets are cool (I am planning on getting a few myself) but I'd recommend taking a pair of them. May cause those heavy weapons to shoot at the jets instead of walkers for a few turns.

Sorry to say, but I think that dreadnoughts (in both my DA and Ork armies) have become pretty bad now, as they usually rely on getting close and with mediocre armor values and 3 hull points, they just get glanced and die bc they aren't fast enough. For their points, I'd suggest getting some more shoota boyz and lootas and maybe some wagons. At least wagons can move fst before they get destroyed haha.
