Hey wanted to ask the community what they thought on this subject. Came up last Sunday when my friends and I were having are game night.
When Fateweaver deep striked he was swooping, is this possible?
We thought it was odd because he doesn't fly in or anything just appears. Also that it seemed odd that he could appear behind us and be only hit on 6s.

The brb tells you that when a FMC deepstrikes you choose whether the creature is swooping or gliding. End of story.

I agree with Overwatch: BRB says when the FMC is deployed the owner declares Swoop or Glide.

There was some contention on this question the last time I saw it brought up. Biggest problem being that when you Deepstrike you cannot move the minimum 12" required by Swooping.

Vehicles that DS are counted as moving at cruising speed, which is 12". Infantry can shoot but count as having moved. FMC would be considered the same. The bottom line is that the rules say they can Swoop so they can Swoop.

Rules citation for the underlined is needed, as I may have missed where they said that.
P.S. Monstrous, not Monsterous

Context. Vehicles count as having moved 12". Infantry count as having moved. But FMC don't count as having moved? Explain how that would work?

Citation needed for this, too.
By RAW, a vehicle counts as having moved Cruising Speed, but only in the Shooting phase. It's ridiculous, but that's what the rules actually say.

Seems you guys are adding a lot of complication to a rule that is very clear and specific:
pg 49: "If a Flying Monstrous Creature is kept as Reserve then as soon as it enters play, you must declare whether it is in Swoop or Glide mode."

I don't see how that matters. It says they count as having moved. The phase is irrelevant. It says they cannot move anymore in the movement phase and count as having moved in the shooting phase. They moved.
As was stated above me the rule gives the FMC permission to enter the game as swooping. Done.

Do MCs still have Relentless?
Is Fleet redefined in 6th edition?
or is it still run/or shoot then assault?

Same here. We can't answer questions that are obviously defined in the BRB.
