My friend and i are currently involved in an ongoing battle, he has chosen to deep strike his chaos daemon prince into play. The model landed directly on top of dangerous terrain. After searching through the rulebook the only interpretation of dangerous terrain i could find was that difficult terrain counts as dangerous.

What we are wondering is that although it is not specifically stated does landing in dangerous terrain mean that you take a roll on the mishap table? or simply take a dangerous terrain test?

He takes a dangerous terrain test. The only time you roll on mishap is if you can't place the model/entire unit for one reason or another.

But note that as the Daemon Prince is a Monstrous Creature, it has the Move Through Cover rule which allows him to automatically pass those dangerous terrain tests from Deep Striking or flying into terrain.
