Is there any miniatures out there that is a blank faction so you can make a custom chapter?
I came up with an idea for a chapter awhile back that I'm rather proud of, and wanted to make it once I understood the universe better.
I couldn't find any chapterless miniatures to do this with so I'm wondering if they exist at all or how I might go about remodeling a faction.

Thank you.

Hey there. I'll assume you are super new to 40k.

Most "Vanilla" Space Marines (what you will see on this tab: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/landingArmy.jsp?catId=cat440176a&rootCatGameStyle= )are in fact blank. They come as basic grey plastic. They'll have various parts of imperial insignia and such on them, but that is something universal to most space marine chapters. You can take a look at unpainted sprues here: http://artgoblin.pl/sprues.php.

Creating your own chapter is a fun part of the hobby, so feel free to dive in. Look through some of the army project logs to get ideas that might help inspire you.

If you have any questions, loads of people are here to help.

Good luck!

Most of the space marine range comes without a chapter, the sample painting on the GW site is mostly ultramarine but given that the models are provided unpainted, with unmolded shoulder pads they are as generic as they could be for homebrew chapters. This ofcourse excludes blood angel, dark angel and space wolf specific bits, for the reason that they are provided with molded pads.

As the guys above said, all the boxes that do not have a chapter name on them already are generic and blank. There will be all the imperial standard symbols and the space marine symbols, but nothing that denotes a chapter that cannot be avoided.

Thank you all very much, yes I'm a bit new, just recently bought my first army and am painting as we speak.
This was just a question for future reference, and thank you for putting my inquiries to rest.

Also, if you get a modeling file, you could easily file down any chapter emblems on miniatures (especially the plastic). There are a lot of cool models out there with different chapter symbols on them, dont let that deter you! nothing a couple minutes of filing cant fix!
